Reprint of old book from 1900, November 1, 2010
This review is from: The Pipe Organ and Player Piano - Construction, Repair, and Tuning (Hardcover)
It should be noted this is a reprint of an old book first published in 1900. It was originally used as lectures by the author, Oliver C. Faust, founder of the Oliver C. Faust School of Piano Tuning located in Boston in the late 1800's through about the 1920's. This book is currently in the public domain. It has been reprinted many times by various publishers. It has useful information as of that era, but it should be understood that this is not current piano or organ technology as taught to piano technicians or organ technicians today. Many techniques listed, make the assumption the person is a trained piano or organ technician. Some methods are not explained clearly or important information or tools used is missing. It does have much useful information of a historical nature involving pianos, players and organs of the mostly 18th century.
