Book Description

0914082191 978-0914082194 March 1991 2

From development of the initial requirements to final drawings used in construction, this authoritative reference for the design and drafting of industrial piping systems provides a step-by-step guide to piping design. Created as an in-depth resource for professionals, this piping bible is as valuable in the field as it is in the office or the classroom. Among the topics covered in this encyclopedic survey are techniques of piping design, the assembly of piping from components, processes for connecting piping to equipment, office organization, methods to translate concepts into finished designs, and terms and abbreviations concerned. An expansive selection of charts and tables presents a wide array of information—frequently used data; factors for establishing pipeways width; spacing between pipes with and without flanges and for “jumpovers” and “runarounds;” principal dimensions and weights for key components; conversion for customary and metric units; direct-reading metric conversion tables for dimensions and data; and a metric supplement with principal dimensional data in millimeters—handily organized for quick reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Piping Designers and Draftsmen must get this book!, July 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Piping Guide: For the Design and Drafting of Industrial Piping Systems (Hardcover)
I use this book all the time for pipe drawings. I agree with others that it is truely the "Bible of Process Piping". My engineers barrow it from me often. Pictures and charts on every page. Welding specs for pipe, pipe fittings and instrumentation assembly details, support details for pipe, different valve descriptions and details, P&ID symbols, welding symbols, tons of pictures throughout showing drafting procedures for piping layout and examples of piping details, many many charts of just about anything you might need from beam sizes to flange standards, stress, thread depth charts, ect. This IS the one, buy it!

This book is a technical guide to the design and drafting of industrial piping systems. I find it to be comprehensive, fascinating to read, but it is a technical book. .....it is the Bible of piping.

This review is from: The Piping Guide: For the Design and Drafting of Industrial Piping Systems (Hardcover)
This is one of the best piping books I have come across in years. The book is complete, concise and very informative. It's a great addition to my piping library and would'nt go on the road without it! A "must have" technical book for all draftsmen, designers and engineers!
