A Clarification, November 3, 2001

This is the only recording of a Callas Pirata. It was recorded from a single microphone so lacks the sonic brilliance of a more modern recording. The supporting cast is not first rate. However, Callas' performance is driven and committed. The final scene is especially fine. Since I offer this recording for sale, I am confused by the Amazon description of Melodram 26013. This is a recording of Il Pirata only. There is no version of Norma on it that I've heard, sorry.
