I promptly received 2 of these telescopes today - 3 days after ordering. The ordering went smoothly, receipt was prompt, and the telescope was even better than we expected. After we figured out you focus by moving the telescope in and out instead of turning, it focused very clearly. Our twin grandchildren will have lots of fun playing Dora and Diego while exploring.

My husband is into a lot of period things, including pirates. I saw a spyglass in some catalog and immediately knew this was the gift for him. I shopped a lot of different sites before deciding on this one from Amazon. On Christmas morning, when he opened the box, the look on his face was priceless.

The telescope came just as advertised and in excellent condition. The brass and leather combination is just beautiful. This will make an excellent accessory for my husband's Ren Faire costumes.

This toy was 'the best' according to my 6 year old grandson. The problem is that it broke within the first two weeks of play. The glass fell out and we could not fix it. He was very disappointed. I just don't think that a toy that costs as much as this toy should be so easily broken. Too bad.

I love this telescope I have used it many times sense I bought it. I have been looking at birds latly at request from someone and it zooms in and focuses right on target I love it 5stars to amazon once again

I got this for my 4 year old daughter thinking she would enjoy looking at things far off. If this is meant for children, it's poorly designed. With patient adjustments, I can get it to where I can see distant objects through it, but now particularly powerfully. But it's hard to see through and hard to focus, and 4 year olds just don't have that much patience. Nor do I.

You might not intend to use this spyglass as a way to act like a pirate while canoeing along the Minnesota/Ontario border, but let me assure you, that is where you're missing out. The spyglass works very well, limited more by the visibility across large lakes than any issue with the spyglass itself. The carrying strap isn't as sturdy as the rest of the case or spyglass, but it's easy to replace with something more durable. With a bit of comic timing, there's a lot of fun to be had here.

This telescope really works great and it is an excellent quality piece! My son is going to go bonkers when I give this to him! Just buy it... RedSky Trader is also a 5/5 stars A+++ seller!

I recieved mine today and immediately set out to use it by focusing on trees and birds in my backyard: at first, all I got was a blur. I looked in the packaging for instructions--there were none.
Resorting to trail and error I will eventually figure out how to bring this scope into focus. I prefer not to return it because it's not worth my time to get back the cost (about $30). At this point it appears that some focus can be obtained by pushing the smallest piece of the telescope forward or backward. However there are coin like groves around each sliding part of the scope so I have yet to figure out if twisting them one way or another would make any difference in the focus.

If I can't figure the focus out for myself, I will, of course, try to contact the Company. But why did they not include a simple instruction sheet?
