About the Author

Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen is the author of numerous fiction and nonfiction books for children, including Hampire!, illustrated by Howard Fine, and Tightrope Poppy the High-Wire Pig, illustrated by Sarah Dillard. Sudipta lives in New Jersey with her family.

Jill McElmurry is an author and illustrator of more than a dozen books for children, including Mad About Plaid and I'm Not a Baby She studied art at SUNY Purchase and the School of Visual Arts in New York. When she’s not producing books, Jill enjoys working with her husband and dog on their Higglety Pigglety Farm in New Mexico.

My 4 year old daughter and I love reading this book together about a princess who isn't into the dressing up stuff, can't cook, and doesn't clean very well.....none of which bother her as she is more into having a grand adventure.

My daughter loves the rhyming, lyrical style of the book. And I LOVE the message that life doesn't start when the prince shows up.

This was a cute use of rhyme to tell a different kind of story. My granddaughter loved the story because she lives pirates and princesses.

A fabulous read aloud! The rhyme and rhythm is pulsing. Vocabulary great to learn and encourage. While I enjoyed this much more than my young preschooler daughter I am sure in a year or two this would provide many a laugh. I love it. Highly recommended for library read alouds as well as a classroom read.
