It is right in line with most books in the paperback series. I just wish that it was offered in a longer version a little truer to the episode my daughter adores. But...a short book is better than no book at all!

We have read this story numerous times at bedtime. It is one of her favorites. Her absolute favorite Backyardigan story is Race to the Tower of Power. She loves "Yucky Man." Although the stories are a shorter version of the DVD's it is nice that they are shorter. She is only 3 years old and we can then read her more than one story before bedtime. These are her two favorite stories. Her other favorites are "Say Please" and "The Secret of Snow."

Backyardigans,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pirate Treasure (Backyardigans (8x8)) (Paperback)
The song for this episode is violent. In one of the songs, What Do You Do with a Scurvy Pirate, this is what Austin sings:
What do you do with a scurvy pirate? Load the cannon up and fire it! In other words, he's telling Uniqua he's gonna shoot Pablo and Tyrone with a big gigantic cannon. Although that might be funny to watch if you're an older kid like me, it's kinda disturbing if you're a three-year-old. |
