That's what I bought this for. It comes with nice stationery and envelopes with a very cool ship design all drawn from one line. There are also two pages of stickers and two of each of three pirate postcards. This a really great set for a pirate themed party or game or really anything that you want to have a pirate theme.

As for the codes...that part's kind of weak. But kids would probably have a great time writing in any code, easily crackable or not, and would enjoy the stickers.

This is not really a book, it is a cool stationary set. When you open it, the inside of the front flap has a couple of codes, and the other side is basically an envelope with paper, envelopes, and stickers. It is cool, though, and goes well with the other Pirateology books.

Okay, so it's just a fancy stationary set, but what a set it is!!!

Envelopes, paper, maps, etc... it's got it all to make your kid(s) feel like they're writing pirate notes or making maps!

If you're expecting more than pirate-style paper, don't buy this. It's not a book, or anything larger/longer than that, but comes with a respectable amount of items so it's certainly not a waste of money.

All in all we give it 5 stars!!!

Even though I didn't like the price, I purchased this for my grand-daughter anyway. The stationery is cool-looking and I think she will enjoy the set. It might even encourage her to write to me. Oh yes... not an Amazon purchase, but from my independent book store, where prices are never discounted. Once a year or so, I kinda feel obligated to support the local guy... after all, where else can I get freshly released books signed by the author?

I might even buy a second set of this, but from the selections of unused items at used prices... not full price again.
