5.0 out of 5 stars A great game!!, June 30, 2006
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest (Video Game)
This is my first game on the psp and i am not sorry i bought it!
There are so many reasons this makes a great game:

Gameplay: It is a little bit short and a little bit easy, but in my opinion it is very fun to fight all those pirates. I love the way Jack stands and runs,it is very reminicent to the movies.

Controls: Controlls are easy to master. One small difficulty is that sometimes the enemy you are fighting strays out of the camera, but its still easy to tell what you are doing. Not hard at all.

Story: Im not shure how well it follows the movie because its not out yet, but it is not to detailed, which i like, so it does not spoil the movie. It does seem a little short though.

Overall: As i stressed before it is a very enjoyable game. Its not frustrating, just challenging enough. I am a big fan of Captain Jack and cant wait till the movie comes out. Yet again Jack does not dissapoint. Highly reccommended for people just starting out on the psp.

4.0 out of 5 stars alright, June 28, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest (Video Game)
i just recently bought a psp, and this is the second game i've played on it. it's an okay game. not the best thing i've ever played, but it certainly does hold my attention.

it's a bit repetitive, what with just swordfighting making up most of the game. it's really neat when you get to use alternate items you can pick up, though, such as bottles and knives. and i love using the stun move- kicking an enemy in the crotch to put him out of business for a few moments, leaving you free to deal with his cohorts. very useful, and certainly qualifies as something jack is likely to do.

my biggest peeve with the game was the lack of power-ups available throughout the level. i was happy enough to sit there and fight every single baddie who came my way, but i found that i had to run away from them all sometimes, just so i wouldn't use up all my life, because i knew it there wouldn't be another power-up for ages. that was a big issue, but easy enough to overcome. if you can run away, then do it. you'll have plenty of other chances to earn notoriety points. and there are a LOT of baddies to fight. they never stop coming.

i like games that make me think a bit, and while you aren't forced to think all that much, it isn't all just mindless button pushing. sometimes you have to utilize the things around you, to move barrels and open doors, and that was also a very good choice on the part of the developers. it adds another dimension to the game.

the graphics are quite good, and it handles nicely. you use the analog stick to move jack about, which works just fine; it's very intuitive. sometimes the camera need adjusting, which is annoying when someone is shooting you but you can't see them because the camera is off in it's own world, but that's easy enough; you use the L and R buttons for that.

the soundtrack is quite good, if a bit annoying, especially when you're spending a bit of time on a certain level and the same music keeps repeating and repeating and repeating, but otherwise it's fine. it changes to fit the level, which is nice.

the last thing i really enjoyed about the game was that it follows the movie's storyline. if you're out on the lookout for spoilers, as i am, then the driving force behind furthuring your game will be to see what happens next. it's very good, the storyline, and it made me all the more anxious for the film.

overall, it is an entertaining game, if a bit annoying at times. one of the better movie-to-game productions i've played, if anything. worth buying.

This review is from: Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest (Video Game)
This game is a bit tricky in some levels but is very injoyable to play. The graphics are brillant. It is hard to kill the axe guys. You are also able to use guns later on in the game.
