5.0 out of 5 stars Man! I've never seen my mom lie like this!
This game is a great family game! You have to try to find a way to lie without being noticed. It might be just a dice game, but it's more original than any dice games I ever played. If you want to lie to your family, (without dishobeying the family rules) this is the game 4 u.

This version of the game come up SHORT. I have to say I have NOT purchased the game in this form but I have played it by another manufacture and love the game. This version comes up SHORT as it only has enough cups and dice for four players but should be for double that. It's great fun with more players so that's why I say it come up SHORT. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Pirate Be 'Ye?, December 31, 2006
A Kid's Review

This game is superb! It's shorter than a board game, but longer than a hand of cards. The details on the dice and cups are great. The dice are even molded to look worn and scratched. My only complaint is the price. I paid almost $20 for it at my local Barnes and Nobles and was disappointed to see it sold with the chess and checkers for $30, as the chess was just shy of $40. Though this game appears simple, it's intriguing. It kept my attention for sure, where at 14, I get somewhat bored with board games! (No Pun Intended (-: )

I bought this game for my nephew and the entire family loved it. They insisted that we buy another so more people could play. The trouble is that I could not find another game on the store shelves after christmas, so I had to order online. I highly recommend this game to everyone.

Liars' Dice sets are usually very expensive. This one has a great price for the quality of product. The cups are not leather - but are moulded plastic. This isn't a big issue - they feel good in the hand.

Overall - a great value.

Believe it or not, this game is actually kind of hard to find. I tried five different toy stores before I gave up and decided to buy online. This is a really fun game that relies on impulses and educated guesses. It's particularly fun if you have two of these games so that eight people can play around a large table. A great party game.

To begin, I was excited to order this. Imagine my surprise when upon opening the box, the game, all the parts, cups, and dice baggies, stank of gasoline. Or motor oil. A bit of both I think, actually. This was in my house, and while the box was in my room, it did in fact give me a major migraine due to the overwhelming smell.

The cups themselves have an excellent look to them, leathery, and very detailed. It gives one the feeling of using one of the cups from the Davy Jones ship. Kudos on the dice as well. Very cool looking, even slightly weathered looking, to add an extra piratey feel.

I washed the cups in dish soap, and the little plastic dice baggy. It helped a bit, but I think it's going to take some more washing to get the odd gasoline smell off the components. A shame, because the game is fun to play. I'd rate it a 5 if it wasn't for the horrible smell on the parts.

Has anyone found any tips to remove the smell? Or comments on it?

Anyways, my final word on the game is, if you do enjoy pirates, get this game. Just open it in a well ventilated area, like a pirates deck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ye Be A Scurvy Pirate, Yarrrgghhhh! Recommended!, December 6, 2008

We *LOVE* "Pirates Dice"! This is one of the most fun games we have ever played and the most requested when we have game night!

From the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the replica dice cups are well made and look very cool. The black dice are 6 sided and have a skull (wild) where the 1 should be.

The game is a variation of Liars Poker (with dice) and is fairly easy to learn. We have added some "house rules" to keep the game moving, but it is truly very fun just as it is. We have bought a second set so we can have additional players and play it at parties and family gatherings.

One of the best house rules is that everyone has to "talk like a pirate" when it is their turn.

So, Arrrggghhhh, "This here game be recommended for ye land lubbers"

5.0 out of 5 stars Grogging Party Fun!, November 10, 2007
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Pirates of the Caribbean Pirates Dice: A Game of High Seas Deception (Toy)
This game is truly a lot of fun. Its very similar to "Liars Poker" (check wikipedia). We like to take a different spin on the game and incorporate a bit of "grog" into the rules; eg: lose a dice and take a drink of grog. Needless to say, the annual new years party was very interesting this past year. Its also great fun for kids and you can teach them a bit about probability, if you dig in a little deeper. Its such a simple concept but has fantastic party replay value.

This is a really fun game to play with your family and friends. I actually made my own rules to the game though, that I think make it alot more fun and also harder. These are my rules, OK, let's say someone says 4 fives ad then the person after them calls them a liar. Everyone lifts there cups and there are 5 fives. I think in the game rules that the person who made the bid would be right, but with my rules you have to pick the exacy right number to be right. It makes the game alot harder, but in my opinion alot more fun. I actually put dice in Yatzee cups and plastic cups and things to my daycare before this game came out and that is how I invented these rules. I had a whole club for playing this game, everyone loved it soooo much they started bringing there own cups and dice just so they could pla It's a really fun game and I would recommend it to everyone over the age of 6 or 7.
