Has it's fun moments, but overall a very cheesy game,

This review is from: Pirates of the Caribbean: Legend of Jack Sparrow (DVD-ROM)
In Pirates of the Caribbean: Legend of Jack Sparrow, you play as Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann and follow the path of pursuing the Black Pearl from the movie along with tangenting into other missions that were not in the movie.
The game interface is a lot like Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, where you follow a path and fight hordes of enemies on the way. You can even play alongside with a buddy in co-op, probably one of the few good features in the game along with Johnny Depp casting his voice as Jack Sparrow. Now for criticizing the game. The game opens looking very promising. You see Jack and Will going through a jungle and after a cinematic, you play as either of them. But the enemies and characters you encounter are cheesy and cartoonish, especially the bosses. The cartoonish enemies make it feel like a children's game at many points. The graphics are okay if you have a high enough video card. But it still looks like a three year old game. The fps can get very choppy at certain points of the game too. The music: pppptttt! If you are expecting the majestic score from the Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl film, prepare to be disappointed. The game music was originally composed for this game, and it sounds very cheesy and juvenile. It is nowhere near like Hans Zimmer's scores. The fighting interface is actually pretty neat. You can lock swords on enemies and use certain combos to finish them off. Probably the coolest element of the fighting is Jack's flame cutlass, where he dips his sword in flammable grog and strikes it on the ground to set it ablaze. The absolute fallacy of this game is the plot. Jack finds himself standing accused at the gallows, and he tells a long fictitious story that you play the role in, and that becomes the game. Anyway, it's a poorly made game.

Good story line, but bad game saves,

I like the story line in this game, but the one thing I find aggrevating is where the game allows you to save. The game allows you to save after long story sequences, so if you mess up you have to start the sequence all over again. Other than that I have found the game very entertaining.
