My Son is 10 years old. I have been pushing him to read for a long time. He started out reading one, and ask me to buy the rest for him. He reads every night for 1hr. Just the other day I heard him say maybe he will read 2 hrs a night. I was so happy to hear that. I thought I could never break him away from all his Video

Bronze, Silver, and Gold,
This review is from: Pirates of the Caribbean: Silver - Jack Sparrow #6 (Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow) (Paperback)
I don't know what it is about these JACK SPARROW books that intrigues me so much. While written at a younger grade level, Rob Kidd does a decent job combining interesting stories with a touch of mystery and quite a bit of Caribbean magic. SILVER, book six in the series, continues the adventures of young Jack Sparrow, and springboards right off of the previous volume, AGE OF BRONZE.
In SILVER, Jack and his crew have retrieved the amulet that belongs to Tumen's peope in the Yucatan, but... there is much more to it than meets the eye. And suddenly, they all find themselves swept up into the mystery surrounding the amulet as a villainous new enemy comes into play, as well as the return of some long-lost foes. And with a peg-legged villain who has the power to keep the crew on his ship forever, how can Jack ever hope to escape? This volume in the series seemed to drag just a bit. AGE OF BRONZE had a pretty nifty villain and a plot that started a lot of new trouble for Sparrow, but SILVER seems to plod along and get lost somewhere in the shuffle. While, there are a couple of interesting surprises, it just didn't come off as thrilling or exciting as previous titles. However, the end does lead up to the next book, CITY OF GOLD, which promises to bring this little saga within the series to a big finish. As always, these are just a great easy read in an hour or so. While not the best one yet, SILVER is still pretty enjoyable. Here's looking to book seven, CITY OF GOLD...

I purchased for my grandson, age 12, and he loves the book. He has the first three books in the series. He highly recommends reading. In fact, he is reading the books for the second time. He stated, "I like the real Jack Sparrow."

I bought these books for my 12yr old daughter. She's a huge POTC fan & has gobbled these books down. Now she has the whole set (9 in all). She enjoyed them immensely & wishes more were available.

I bought the entire series for my 11-year old son and he read them all from cover to cover and enjoyed them all. When he saw that this one was available, he begged his father and I to buy it for him. Needless to say, he read it in its entirety as soon as it arrived and enjoyed it immensely.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Pirates of the Caribbean: Silver - Jack Sparrow #6 (Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow) (Paperback)
This book has been a very thrilling book. The reason is a trick is played on the boat/crew of Captain Laura Smith(Arabella's mother). She has ~kindly~ invited the crew of the Barnacle over to her boat. The crew of the barnacle awaits to see what happens. Silverback. a man who they see has a crystal leg, somehow knows the past, perhaps future, of the Barnacle crew. Meanwhile, Louis misbehaves and is sent to the brigs with Silverback. But then, what happens next? Read the book to find out!
