Book Description

Ahoy, Mateys!

It's lunchtime again, and this particular afternoon Alfie's mom has made him a delicious meatball and gravy sandwich. As Alfie is sitting at the kitchen table enjoying his lunch, a pirate named Gully sails into the kitchen on his great big ship, and mistakes the meatballs on Alfie's sandwich for cannonballs. Soon, Alfie finds that his lunch is being launched from Gully's cannon at an approaching enemy pirate ship! While the enemy pirates are slipping and sliding around in the meatballs and gravy, Gully is able to board their ship and make off with something very special—the first piece of a genuine treasure map! Alfie and Gully immediately set off on a voyage to collect the missing pieces of the map, which takes them all over Pirate's Cove and has them completing all sorts of unexpected tasks: like running in the 510th Annual Sea-rover's Relay, and playing the letter 'Arrrr!' in a preschool pageant entitled Alphabet Soup. It seems there is much more to a pirate's life than meets the eye ...

Will Alfie and Gully collect all the missing pieces of the map in time to find the treasure? Climb aboard and find out in this swashbuckling tale!

A Fun Project Brings Alfie And Gully To Life!

What if you could sit down and write a real letter to your favorite children's book character? Well, at the end of A Pirate's Life, you can do just that ... you might even get something in return! This is a great project to do with your child or grandchild ... and imagine their delight when they actually hear back from Alfie and Gully! After all, it's not every day you get mail from a pirate ...

About The Author

When Stephanie Barrett was a child she didn't walk around with a security blanket or a stuffed animal; instead she walked around with a copy of Richard Scarry's Best Storybook Ever. It might not have been as warm and fuzzy, but it more than made up for it with wonderful stories and beautiful illustrations.

Before long she began to scribble stories of her very own onto construction paper and legal pads. Her love affair with children's books has continued ever since, and she absolutely loves being able to share her books with children of all ages. She lives in central Florida with her husband, dog, and cat.

A Kid's Review
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a very detailed book this author has used a range of punctuation and dialogue I would recommend this book to a 7-13 even better than I expected . Try to make it (this) more popular than any other and do the same to any book please if you do not get this read it again and again and again until you get what's happening try and bond with the book and please never stop reading. Get books and read if you want to read this book but it's for girls read it who cares or the same for a boys book. And most important to get to know what you are reading please do not say rude words and speak clearly.

Thank you

More About the Author

Stephanie Barrett realized at the ripe old age of eight that she wanted to become an author more than anything in the world. After college, Stephanie's love of children led her to teach preschool, where she drew constant inspiration for story ideas from the amazing children in her class.

The idea for A Dragon's Work Is Never Done, however, didn't come from one of Stephanie's preschool students. Instead, it came from a street food vendor selling sandwiches with mustard so spicy that it seemed entirely possible to turn into a full-fledged, fire-breathing dragon after taking a bite.

Stephanie lives with her husband, dog, and cat in central Florida.
