Real pre-teens could definitely not identify with the odd dialogue and writing style that bounces between stuffy old-fashioned vocabulary and a weak attempt at "modern" slang. I would be appalled for a child to read this and think that all the grammatical and spelling errors were acceptable. Where was the proofreader???
