I found them a touch too sweet but good tasting regardless. My only complaint is they are made with hydrogenated coconut oil which is just about the worst thing you can put into your body. This is one of the worst forms of hydrogenated oils which translates to a really bad form of trans-fats. Why any company which takes pride in it's products will put this poison into...

The packaging helps prevent the sticks from breaking but try as they may it never works well probably because the store clerks enjoy bouncing them on the floor before stocking them. Receiving both flavors in a single can is a wonderful treat and this makes a great gift -- if you can remove them from the hands of your family. My father loves those instant sweet coffees with flavorings and these wafers have enabled him to dunk into his healthier black decaf coffee and still receive a flavorful boost. The chocolate hazelnut is probably the most popular flavor, but I really love the pumpkin spice, maybe being in the minority who doesn't need to await the autumnal season to enjoy squashes. The cookies are light, crispy, dunk perfectly and if you can get them into your mouth quickly you can enjoy the wafer with a bit of a crunch. I've added them atop freshly made ice cream for a bonus in texture and visual appeal. If you're lucky enough to receive broken cookies, rumor has it that they have no calories. Not true, but one can't help but wish. I find that I am able to control myself and have only one at a sitting because one wafer is about 50 calories and I don't want to overdo a good thing. Because these cans are large and include 4 sealed bags, you won't need to worry about eating 28 ounces at once. For us, that's an asset.

They are sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, at least for those of us with a sweet tooth. Having two flavors in a tin is a great idea, it means you can alternate between types (I open a pouch of one flavor first, then a pouch of the other flavor) to avoid ODing on one taste. I find the pumpkinspice ones absolutely heavenly, the chocolate hazelnut ones are merely very very good. I ordered three tins at a higher price on an amazon promotion recently, and I see now that they are available for about 2/3 the price I paid, so I'm ordering more!

Highly recommended. In addition to tasting great, they look very elegant on top of ice cream or other desserts if you are trying to create a pleasing setting for guests.

This is one of the worst forms of hydrogenated oils which translates to a really bad form of trans-fats. Why any company which takes pride in it's products will put this poison into them is a mystery. I lowered my rating due to the poor ingredients. Look for better snacking elsewhere. I am sorry I bought them. Note: There are 2 different flavors in the container. I found the pumpkin spice a bit oversweetened for my taste not the chocolate hazelnut.

3.0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag., July 13, 2009

I was able to snag this when it was on sale for $16.00. Definitely a superb deal at that price. Considering that the wafers were shipped, they showed up mostly intact, so those of you who are worried about tiny Pirouline shards attacking you when you open the tin need not be afraid.

I have no problems with the chocolate hazelnut sticks. They're quite delicious. While others have expressed their fondness for the pumpkin spice flavor, I must declare that I despise it. I love pumpkin and spiced pumpkin products. The filling in the pumpkin spice wafers does not taste like pumpkin to me. Instead of a delightful spicy pumpkin taste, I get a gross fake chemical taste and an even worse aftertaste. Whenever I have people over, everyone avoids the pumpkin spice wafers like the plague and makes a beeline for the chocolate hazelnut wafers.

I wish there were less (or no) pumpkin spice wafers in these tins.

Other reviewers complained about these being unhealthy. Well, most store bought cookies are. And it's not like you are going to make a meal out of these every day for the rest of your life. I love them! I was hesitant to get them because of the pumpkin flavor, I love pumpkin but couldn't imagine what these would taste like. I'm glad I went ahead and bought them because they're delicious! Sure they're sweet, but are so very good with coffee. I'm ordering more today to have on hand. I also worried that the exp. date might be nearing, as pumpkin is more of "fall" flavor, but they're dated 9/09, so they're plenty fresh. This is a great buy, I think the chocolate hazelnut flavor that Sam's Club carries are at least $8.00 per tin.

I love hazelnut, so when I saw 3 of these for 16 bucks I thought I'd give it a shot. They're not bad but the filling is a bit more solid than I'd expected from something like this. The pumpkin are alright but I think they should stick to selling these as separate flavors. The hazelnut goes quickly but by the time you're done with the pumpkin you're pretty much sick of them.

I thought I'd end up throwing the Pumpkin Spice ones away and just eating the chocolate ones when I got these in a Lightning Deal. But they are fantastic. They're almost addictive, and about as good for you as other addictive substances. But who cares?

If you're looking for a real taste treat, get pack. Each tin comes with 4 7oz bags, 2 of each flavor. And you get three tins, so if my math is correct you're paying just over $3 a pound at the current price of $17.50.

Perfect for sticking a scoop of ice cream when you have guests over for dinner.
