1.0 out of 5 stars Crossbow
SIGHTS ON THIS CROSSBOW ARE GARBAGE!!! When adjusting the rear sights the turning wheel broke instantly. Yes, the crossbow seems decently constructed but without decent sights this thing is worthless. It does pack a mean punch but even then the arrows that came with it break with each shot. I wish I would have used my gift cards towards something of better quality. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars GARBAGE!, May 13, 2011

this thing is a POS ! sure, its inexpensive?,but you sure get what you pay for. it lasted maybe twenty minutes. the first thing to break was the cheap plastic front sight during unpacking! then while assembling as per the feeble picture instructions, the Bow itself split. appears to be some sort of fiberglass laminate. cheap. weak. so, even though now essentially broken i continued to put it together and test fire it. first shot resulted in one of the plastic bow tips separating and flying off. the bolts seem to sit loosely and feel sloppy in the rail. and it is weak firepower wise. probably due to the split bow?, but..whatever. this thing is a POS, don't buy one. i wish i would have read the reviews prior to purchasing. in there defense?, after multiple phone calls and emails i received an email stating they would send out a replacement bow (no mention of the sight or bow end though..) so..bottom line..you get what you pay for.

Terrible. Broke within a few hours (string frayed and the trigger mechanism broke (appears to be plastic). Arrows that were included were also terrible - one broke in half pulling it out of the package. Not worth $1.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you have experience, you might make this work., May 20, 2011

This is the first mini crossbow I ever tried to use, and I put about 3 hours into it without ever shooting a single bolt. The photos on the back of the box showed part of the assembly process, but I spent a long time figuring out the wedge system which holds the prod (the bow part) in place. The metal stand looked very simple to put on, but it never went on the right way. And finally, I wasn't able to string the bow. I saw someone on YouTube using his knee to bend the bow but I felt like it might snap if I did that. I tried making a stringer out of cable, but as I stretched it back, I became concerned that the whole crossbow might come apart and a piece might break off and hit me in the face. The plastic end caps come off, no matter how securely you push them on. I ended up diassembling the crossbow, re-packaging it, and returning it. The price is good, and you get extra bolts, but I think you need experience with stringing a crossbow, or more guts than I have, to enjoy this. I'm pretty patient and a good problem-solver, but this item defeated me. I may try another type, from another company, some day.

Looked great. It was slightly difficult to put together due to the vague instructions. First 3 shots were a blast!! 4th Shot shattered the plastic tips. Now it lays useless in the shed after 3 great shots!

but lets get to the point well i would not get this product for a kid unless he/she is mature enough to own this weapon,(please note this is NOT A TOY).
the package was packed superb no damage was done product is actually really good. The instructions are terrible but easy to follow, it come with pictures on the box showing how to assemble the actual body for the bow is actually quite sturdy(all metal possibly aluminum and steel). the arrows the bow come's with are actually good but little can be said about the extra pack the supplier included. the stringing of the bow was actually quite easy only took about 3 mins to assemble everything with no problems.(did it buy myself), and another reason i am in doubt this would be good for a kid under the age 0f 16 is that it is really hard to cock back the string and i work out 4 times a week, so i doubt a teen under the age of 16 would be able to cock it back with no problem. overall this is a excellent product the sight's are way off but you really don't need them unless your target is over 30 meters down(you basically could eyeball where the bolt would fly). this is a must buy for some cheep fun and small game hunting. some tips would be to buy this product with some replacement arrows and an extra string also lube up the string and track before a round of shots or you will be a little off and will damage the string alot quicker than you will want to.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a shame, it looked so nice too!, March 5, 2011

This looked like the perfect thing to take small game hunting. We tried for about an hour to string it and there was no way that string was going to go on that bow. Then we watched a youtube video that showed you how to string it and we followed the instructions and the bow split down the sides. It's fiberglass and wasn't going to stand up to the string. After reading the other reviewers I'm wondering if maybe the string was an inch and a half too short? Whatever, it wasn't happening! That said, the seller was very responsive and worked with us. We got another bow, but we're not about to make the same mistake twice so we're selling it to someone else.
It's such a shame 'cause it looked like it would have been fun. Live and learn...

SO I opened my box, no instructions, and Im a new guy to crossbows, the instructions on the box were of little help, I had to look online for how to assemble it,once assembled, I shot the pistol crossbow, it BARELY penetrated cartboard, does not even dent wood.the bolts simply fall apart after shooting them , DONT BUY COBRA PRODUCTS!

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken Already..., July 21, 2011

I saw the product and initially was going to use it for two things. As a cosplay prop (better than building your own) and for recreation. Out of the box everything seemed fine. Then I started to use it. After only 2 shots the metal stoppers for the cocking mechanism started to bend. We now need a screw driver or some other lever object to pry back the cocking mechanism. Then there is the issue of the bolts. After firing the crossbow a total of 12 times, one of the bolts broke right in half. It seems that this crossbow will remain purely as a prop.
