Spin of the Wheel has some of Hoyt's best material on it. I can listen to this CD over and over and never get tired of it. Pistol Packin' Mama isn't as good, but it too has some good songs on it. Because this is a double album, it's really a bargain!

Another great Hoyt Axton double re-release that you don't want to miss. "Pistol Packin' Mama" will keep you awake and poppin' your fingers. "Spin of the Wheel" was Hoyt's last album, it contains songs you might not know, but sure will enjoy! Try "Mr Winchester's Gun" for clever word play and a great story line! This is another super CD for the long haul; you won't get tired of this one either! Buy it while you can before it's gone.

Excellent CD. I've been trying to find Pistol Packin' Mama to replace a cassette tape I have that's about worn out. My kids grew up listening to it in the car and they especially loved Fearless the Wonder Dog, which I remember hearing was a song that Hoyt Axton wrote when his long-time and faithful dog died. It's like Hoyt to write a happy, upbeat song at a time like that. Hoyt was one of the great songwriters and many songs that are linked to specific singers, even in different genres, were written by Hoyt and it's great to hear him perform them.

I looked everywhere for the song MOUNTAIN Right and even Itunes couldn't find it. So when I found it thur amazon it was great . Thanks ( now I need the video of it.)

There were no Pistol Packin' mama/Spin of the Wheel available in the States so ordered from Great Britin didn't take that long to get here and they were in perfect shape. Less expensive also.

The golden voice of Mr. Axton shines through on a mix of music on this album, showing just how talented he was.The different rhythms on this album almost over shadow the lyrics. Easy to listen to and work stopping.Superb

I mainly got this cd because I wanted the songs "I Collect Hearts" and "Mr. Winchester's Gun". It also, has a few other popular songs by other people. Only, reason I gave this four out of five is because it was suppose to get to me sooner, but it was shipped from England. Sooo, I had to wait several more weeks for this cd. For all of you that haven't heard of this singer he has a really deep voice and he was Billy's father from Gremlins.

I am very glad to have grown up listening to Hoyt Axton's music.I am glad that ya'll carry it so I can replace all the lost music iI don't have!
