Editorial Reviews

Third album for UK melodic punk act & their debut for Golf Records. This album like the band's previous output relies on catchy melodies with a 'powerful punk punch'. Highlights include 'Gutbuster' & 'Glory Hole'. 2002. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars another great release, December 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Pistols at Dawn (Audio CD)
First off the Andy Sneap production is on the cd is outstanding. The songs aren't as angry as the ones from "Hit for Six", but still very good. This is a must have for fans of "Strung Out". I highly recommend this cd. Consumed are one of the best bands out there right now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Consumed album, September 10, 2005
By
This review is from: Pistols at Dawn (Audio CD)
After "Hit for Six" was released, I was hooked on this band. They released demo versions a few of these songs on their website, but they never made any mention of when the album came out (or why it wasn't released on Fat Wreck Chords, their previous label). They broke up, their website went down, and here I was with a few demos and no full length album. I heard in passing that they put out an album called "Pistols at Dawn", and after a little searching, I found it. I'm kind of glad I had to wait so long. I had always wanted these guys to put out some new material, and now I finally have it two and a half years after it was released, and it's brand new to me. The mix on "Pistols" is far better than anything they've done before, and the songwriting is equally enjoyable. A little different than previous work, yet so much they same, Consumed throws out catchy choruses similar to Sum 41 or Jimmy Eat World, then immediately shifts directions to their trademark dual guitar work and snippy drum beats. This is without a doubt a must-buy for anyone interested in good, hard punk with a touch of pop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definately Worth Buying, December 25, 2003

This cd just never gets old. I've been listening to it nonstop since I got it. And everytime I notice something new. The last track of this cd is actually a remix of one of their song's from the Breakfast at Poppa's cd called "Heavy Metal Winner". They re-did the song on synthesizers and totally changed it, it's pretty neat. I recommend buying this cd along with their other two. (Hit For Six and Breakfast at Poppa's) I just bought all three of them used all at once. With shipping it was less than 20 bucks. This is cd is worth your money and then some.... enjoy.
