These pitbulls in skirts held it down for their men, until Thick--the grimiest out the crew--decides to "wife" an outsider. He then devises a plan that might end the clique's relationships with their girls. Will they stay loyal to the ones that held them down or will they pledge their loyalty to Emerald City and Emerald City alone? This book is a page-tuner from start to finish--i read this book in three hours! Its HOT!!!! The Cartel did it again-- another hit. They won!! Keep your eyes on the rising stars they turn out.

This is the first book I've read from The Cartel, and they have definitely gained me as a fan. Pitbulls In A Skirt was about women's empowerment on a street level that left you baffled because you can't believe the events that took place. When they say behind every man stands a strong woman, this statement rings true on the pages of this book. These chicks were beyond ride or die, and their loyalty for each other couldn't be questioned. The Cartel is stepping the game way up, and I'm looking forward to more hot books from them for years to come.

They are strapped and representing one of D.C.'s deadliest and most lucrative housing projects for the love of their thuggish men. Mikal Malone has penned a stimulating and fierce read centered around the gatekeepers of Emerald City, and the loves of their lives: the original hustlers. These four ladies are the epitome of loyal, dedicated, and ferocious when it comes to their duties to oversee the profitable drug game that they've been lured into and have this business humming like a well oiled machine. Pitbulls In A Skirt is an exciting read that captivates the reader with the realistic daily scenes revolving around the central characters. Mikal Malone does a wonderful job of endearing the heroines as they each struggle through troubling situations with their loved ones. The title is indeed trendy yet heartfelt because these four ladies are rare jewels that embody tenacity, strength, steadfastness as well as empower genuine beauty gracefully. Pitbulls In A Skirt is an awesome read! Mikal has most definitely acquired a faithful fan base with this read and we are anxiously awaiting the second installment to this remarkable tale of life in the hood and the people that call it home by omission or commission! Kudos to you, Mikal Malone!!

I read this book in 2 days because once i started i could not put it down. It has twist and turns and lots of action. Praise to Mikal who gave girls thier respect and finally acknowledged that women can be as powerful as men. The dog pitbull is known for its attacks and style. The girls in this book make you realize they can be pitbulls but also real women,with real drama. Every women will relate to one of the women in this book, and what these women do keep you guessing, and surprised. They are not to be messed with. They also show what real friendship/sisterhood means. There is street,romance, and lots excitement in this page turner. Mikal Malone comes across as a seasoned vet in the writing genre and i look forward on the edge of my seat to see whats next from him. This book is as hot and as firey as the cover. you will not be disappointed. It also reminds you of what you've heard behind every man is a woman who helped him get a seat on his throne. They remind you how to treat your women.

Pitbulls in a skirt introduces us to Mercedes,Carissa,Kenyatta and Yvette.These women are made the gatekeepers and keep Emerald City on lock while their men are hustling.The story moves at a fast pace and I enjoyed it from begining to end.I'm ready for the next book.

I read this book in 2 days! The Cartel Publications put out yet another hit for the streets! These ladies held it down for Emerald City and then some. Talk about "Karma"! Men treat your women right and "appreciate" them cause this book will surely show you that, women with a plan is a strong force to be reckoned with!! A page turner from beginning to the end!!!! Trust me, this wil be the talk of any book club!!!!

I was instantly attracted to this hot new release because of the slammin title and the awesome cover, but Pitbulls In A Skirt is so much more than that. The hottest new release to hit the shelves this year, you can't sleep on this one. If you don't read anything else in 2008, make sure you grab a copy of Malone's sassy hood tale! Keep up the great work Mikal. Can't wait to read part two.

WITHOUT GIVING ANYTHING AWAY, YVETTE,MERCEDES,KENYATTA,CARISSA ARE BROUGHT TO LIFE IN THIS DRAMA FILLED CRAZY A$$ BOOK!!YOU GO THROUGH SO MANY EMOTIONS READING THIS I HAD TO STAND UP THROUGH PART OF THE BOOK CAUSE I WAS TO HYPE TO SIT AND READ IT.ONE MINUTE THIS BOOK WILL HAVE YOU LAUGHING THEN THE NEXT YOUR READY TO CRY.YO IF YOU HAVEN'T PURCHASE THIS BOOK I ADVISE YOU TO GO OUT AND GET A COPY HELL BUY 2. I don't want to give to much away but when you think about the women of EC (Emerald City) the first words that come to mind are: Beautiful, Strong, Determined and most of all Vicious. Follow Yvette, Mercedes, Carrissa and Kenyetta donned the "Gate Keeps" of EC by their men. Follow them as the ladies of EC and the men they love go at it. In this novel love is everything except when the ones you love turn their backs on you for that old mighty $$ and old promises are easily broken. You really see why this novel is called "Pitbulls in a Skirt"

While intriguing and fresh, PITBULLS IN A SKIRT had myriad characters that often confused the storyline. New author Mikal Malone has still penned a very unique story of friendship, and the sequel will surely attract lots of readers.
