CARNIVOROUS PLANTS: Carnivorous plants have the most bizarre adaptations to low-nutrient environments. These plants obtain some nutrients by trapping and digesting various invertebrates. But carnivorous plants absorb nitrogen from their animal prey through their leaves specially modified as traps.
