I finished this game last night and what a blast the journey was. I bought this game to take my mind away from work and school but I got hooked. When I thought I was stuck, it was because I had overlooked something -- you really have to use your wits and analytical skills sometimes! My boyfriend and I played together, he took some platforms and I did some. I thought the graphics were superb and it has made me a snob against games whose graphics are not as advanced. I'm no gamer-expert, just a casual user so I'm really no authority on graphics but this was fantastic. The other reviewer was correct -- you have to work at timing your vine jumps and sprints to get to where you want to go. This game was witty, exciting and aethetically marvelous.

This has to be one of the best platformers of the year. I've had this game for 2 days and I don't want to stop playing. It has the first 2 Pitfall games hidden inside (Pitfall + Pitfall II-Lost Caverns)that were on the Atari 2600. The only way they could have done better would have been to have included Super Pitfall from Nintendo NES, but maybe they can fit that in on the next sequal (hint hint). If you like Disney's Haunted Mansion & Shinx and the Cursed Mummy you'll like this. The game play is great & I think I'll like playing it over & over. No need to go into detail, this is classic Pitfall Harry action on steriods.

I heard nothing about this game when it came out a year ago and I found it in a bargain pile at Walmart for $20 so I decided to give it a try. Well its pretty damn good considering its price and that I didnt even hear about it when it first came out. The characters and the story arent exactly as "cool" as say Resident Evil 4 or God of War type games, in fact the characters are kind of geeky. But the gameplay is awesome a lot of fun with tons of moves and obstacles and action from te beginning to the endof the game. Controls are tight and well done. I recommend this game to anyone if they see it in the store give it a try like i said the charcters and the story might not be so cool but the gameplay is.

The title is so true. From beginning to end the game rules! If you are stuck and don't mind cheating go to yahoo and in the search bar type in walkthrough for pitfall ps2. You will get good choices. If you are at the very end, second to last boss battle (demon jaguar), then what you should do is at the title screen hold down L1 and R1 and press left, square, circle, down, square, x, square and circle. Your canteen will always be full with healing water. Then go out there and kick demon butt. GO BUY IT NOW!!! NO RENT, BUY!!!!!

Before I say anymore, I want to tell everyone NOT to take my three star rating too seriously. This rating was specific to my experience, and more specificly, my gaming ability. I am fairly new at this kind of gaming, as I usually play pc games only. I used to play the original version of Pitfall, years ago, and remember it fondly. I like the grafix, and Harry's personality a lot. I am having a difficult time getting past the beginning after the crocodiles. I would recommend the game to anyone who is fairly experienced in gameing, or who has time to figure things out. I can tell that it will be a lot of fun once I get a little better at it.

this was a gift for my wife that loves games like frogger, jak and ratchet series. It has great graphics, excelent play control and fun factor. Simple and you can save anytime. Great for somebody who likes simple gaming and somebody who needs to save often.

I always rent a game before I buy it, and this one passed the test within the first day. Aside from the graphics being really nice in an eye candy, clamation sort of way, I think that it plays nice and smooth as well. There were some minor moments of frustration where I thought I had gotten myself stuck in an area witout a skill I needed, but each time this happened I would find that I only overlooked the answer that was right in front of me. If you like adventure games with a bit of silly fun in them I would highly reccommend this one. It is a lot of fun without being so easy that there is no challenge. You have to have the proper timing to swing from vine to vine, to use the crocs without being eaten, to run across hot coals, etc, but I haven't come across anything that is unmanageable to the point that it ruins the fun of the game. Check it out-- and if you get hooked like I did-- add it to your collection.

Pitfall is an old favorite and it doesnt' disappoint. The graphics are great and it is fun to play.
If you are a pitfall fan, this is a great buy to get. The levels are good and some of the scenarios are similar to the old version. The only downfall is that it could be a little longer. There should be more levels and it would make the game longer. Once you finish it you want more. |
