5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!!, November 27, 2010
Ok let us put in a correct review for this album since the review above doesnt have anything to do with this particular album(a mistake by Amazon obviously).

This was a totally improvised live concert performed in Denver Colorado on Saturday July 26, 2003 to a very small audience WITH, to add, a thunderstorm brewing outside and breaking open mid concert. This live performance chronicles Robert Rich's journey across The USA on tour that summer and experiencing intense weather along the way. Ive always liked Robert Rich's collaborations with Steve Roach and a few of his solo works. I believe that Rich's creativity is deep and primordial with that touch of cultural spice(his albums have had a sort of eastern theme to them which I have really liked). "Propagation" is a great journey into an asian'esque landscape. Anyway back to this album,,,,WOW!!!! What creativity, im glad I downloaded this one. I will certainly be using it in my Therapeutic Bodywork sessions. Music is so important in the work that I do. I dont just play any plinkity plink generically pumped out new age subterfuge for my clients. I wish to take them deeper in their relaxation so that I can really work into them. I use Robert Rich and Steve Roach and others music in this process......This Album has all the great marks of a creative space that intensely connects into the moment, flowing in and out of a smooth and billowy reality. Its very rare that we can really put out a creative "in the moment" space and share that with other people "In the moment". This is one of those rare recordings that does exactly that. You wont be dissapointed with this music.

Much love, Now Traveller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Call Down the Sky, July 21, 2007

I first heard this on Harts of Space on Public Radio. Not being previously familiar with the Lap-steel-guitar I was simply entranced by its long guitar tones.

This review is from: Pivot (Audio CD)
PIVOT is the 2nd album from Amoeba: the partnership of space-music genius Robert Rich and his longtime guitarist friend Rick Davies. This is one of those albums where you will reap big rewards with repeated listenings. Stylistically, it contains elements of David Sylvian, Robert Fripp, Beatle-esque psychedelia and gothic sensibilities similar to V.A.S.T., but overall it's really unique and hard to define. Robert Rich, who is best known as an instrumental electronic artist, demonstrates that he is really a talented if somewhat subdued vocalist on this album. While I feel that the first Amoeba album WATCHFUL is slightly superior, PIVOT is extremely intriguing and very different from anything you're likely to hear anywhere. One of the most refreshing albums I've heard in years.
