Pixarpedia is the ultimate visual companion for all the Pixar movies and shorts, from Toy Story to the latest Up. It's filled with details like character bios, fun facts and story arcs. It even includes characters that weren't named in movies, like the multiple cars from Cars and utility robots (and rejects) from WALL-E, and a whole lot more.

The layout of the book is beautiful and high resolution pictures are used throughout. This is a book made for fans who can't get enough of Pixar goodness.

If your a Pixar Fan, this is a must have. The pages are filled with screen shots of all the different movies and characters. If your interested in more of the process of how Pixar makes their movies, then you need to look at the individual "Making of" books for more in depth, behind the scenes action. Being an encyclopedia of Pixar I would have hoped to learn a bit more about the people and process from Pixar. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool book to look at, and there are a few pages about the people and process. But it is about the movies, mainly.

This is an awesome book. The layout and design of this book is done extremely well. Packed full of images, movie stills, character art, & poster art this book gives fans of all ages a behind-the-scenes description and analysis of PIXAR films. Featuring movie facts, film plots as well as character bios, this 350 page book is an excellent guide to the world of PIXAR. PIXAR shot films are also included in this book such as, One Man Band, Mike's New Car, Presto, Lifted, Mater and the Ghostlight and more! Although this book is written at a young adult age level, it is a must have for any PIXAR fan.

Wonderful picture book for the kid in all of us, but be advised that the shown cover version is the 2009 US DK release, whereas a newer UK release (Sept. 2010) is 376 pages (24 pages longer, vs 352 total pages.) Not sure why there wasn't coordinated release here in the states as well? Would be a minor quibble, only except the update includes Toy Story 3, Pixar's flagship franchise and most moving film to date. The 2009 Pixarpedia only briefly mentions TS3. The content is definitely five stars, one star less for DK's U.S. publishing and marketing strategy. Website gives no indication of when the updated American release is forthcoming. Great book otherwise, and well worth the list price. The UK version is considerably more, unfortunately.

Must own for any animation, pixar, film, or cartoon buff. Also fantastic if you want to wow your friends with "inside" knowledge about the films!

This a great book for those who wants to know the facts behind each movie made by this wonderful company,i can only imagine the creative environment surrounding this people each day they go to work,i will be happy working for them even extra hours without pay!,you will not be dissapointed with this book,great reference,put it in your library!

PIXARPEDIA is a labor of love. Not only does it document PIXAR's first 10 feature films, but every short in between. With a complete listing of characters and trivia on each film and an insiders look to working in the Toybox of a studio, PIXARPEDIA is a great insight for those not so well versed in all that is PIXAR and even for those that can't get enough. Here's to nine more volumes.

Pixar Mavens rejoice! This book has it all; amazing large color pictures and graphics, the inside scoop, animator info. Large well put together book goes through the company it self, a bit on each movie, artists, ETC. Worth every penny. If you are a serious Disney/Pixar fan, or just like the movies, you will not be dissapointed.

THERE ARE TWO VERSIONS OF PIXARPEDIA---I TRIED TO FIND OUT IF THEY WERE THE SAME BOOK BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS BOOK---ITS IDENTICAL--- ONE IS PRINTED FOR THE UNITED STATES AND THE OTHER IS PRINTED FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM---THEY HAVE DIFFERENT ISBN NUMBERS AND A DIFFERENT COVER BUT ARE THE SAME BOOK---DON'T BUY THIS VERSION YOU CAN GET THE AMERICAN VERSION FOR A LOT LESS MONEY I WISH I HAD FOUND THIS OUT ---WOULD HAVE SAVED ABOUT 15 DOLLARS---OH WELL LIVE AND LEARN--- THE BOOK IS FANTASTIC 5 STARS BUT BUY THE USA VERSION

This book was my son's favorite gift he received for Christmas. It is such a wonderful book for Pixar fans and is so comprehensive. Very wonderful addition to our household library.
