5.0 out of 5 stars A Pixel in a Greater Picture, June 5, 2001

If one particular phrase could be employed to characterize the challenge placed before us by Fred Peatross it would be "responsible change." There is no more comfortable place than a deep rut. However, from the depths of a rut one cannot see the horizon, one loses sight of his surroundings, and one is incapable of moving forward. Another name for a deep rut is a "grave."

Fred, in this exciting new book, has challenged the people of God to leave their religious ruts and move ahead into an exciting new century. It is a call to "responsible change," the only kind of change that will truly bring glory to our God and a much-needed transformation to His people. This book will make you THINK...but that is the only avenue of escape from a traditional trench!!

--Al Maxey, Pulpit Minister/Elder Cuba Avenue Church of Christ

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pixel in a Greater Picture, June 5, 2001

This review is from: A Pixel in a Greater Picture: The Emerging Church of Christ (Mass Market Paperback)
Fred Peatross' book is not only a call to reform in Churches of Christ but a call to relevance. He challenges our "sacred cows" in a biblically thoughtful way that not only touches our heads but reaches our hearts. Some of his most challenging material is aimed at church leaders. In a renewed call to humility he states, "I believe that much of the work the Lord wants to do in the lives of leaders is to teach them to walk in their weakness as powerfully as they walk in their strengths." Fred interweaves biblical scholarship with story for a book that transports us closer to the will of God and the foot of the cross.

--Paul Woodhouse Minister, Grace Church of Christ

Fred is a God-gifted writer and encourager. He is a change agent. I am reminded of how Jesus brought radical change to the traditions of His time on earth. I pray we all become Christ-like and do the same.
