All Pixel Organics organic cotton is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. Why buy organic cotton? Simply for the health of our planet and those who live on it. Conventionally grown cotton is the most heavily sprayed crop in the world. It represents 3% of the world's farmland but accounts for 25% of all insecticides used. Only 1% of pesticides end up on the pests. 99% ends up in our water, air and soil. Pixel Organics uses organic cotton to be part of the solution. You can join us too. Additionally, Pixel Organics uses a low-impact printing process for all of our custom prints. This Organic Trade Association approved method of printing uses a water based procedure which does not incorporate heavy metals in the application process. Rather than using new resources we have chosen to find new uses for already existing ones. Our bedding is filled with REFILL regenerated polyester fibers which are made from recycled PET water bottles. This provides us with a sustainable fill which is machine wash and dryable. PET is a perfectly safe material and has no Bis-phenol A or phthalates. PET is not a polycarbonate plastic and does not contain or release harmful chemicals. All Pixel Organics products are made locally in the USA. We are working within our community to create a sustainable product and lifestyle.
