Pixie 3 Single - Mac/Win

I've been using this program for 3 years, both as a teacher and as a mom. Since others reviewed on its classroom potential, let me tell you how much my own kids love it. I first brought home this software when my daughter was 4 years old. It did not take her long to learn how to draw pictures, insert "stickers" (clip art), and print her artwork to hang around the house. As the program, and my youngest child, have grown, she is now making slideshow movies that she sends to her grandparents. They love being able to see her art, and hear her audio narration. The best part is that she can do it all on her own. My only contribution is to email the completed Quicktime file! My oldest daughter is in 5th grade. She uses the program to complete her homework assignments - vocabulary cartoons, an American Explorer report, scientific lab write ups... it's all being done on Pixie. And it engages her learning in ways other software do not. She actually comes up with ideas/topics to research just so she can produce a product for it on Pixie. How many parents can say that? I kid you not when I say you can learn all the key aspects of the program in under 15 minutes. Even my 76 year old grandfather was playing with the program over the Thanksgiving weekend. It's just a fun, powerful tool that should be standard issue on all new computers. I can't praise it enough.

This project based creativity tool provides children with a blank canvas upon which they can creatively express understanding of curricular content, turn their thoughts in to pictures, and their imagination in to a frameable piece of artwork! This program has several desirable features that lend itself well to education both at home and school. Pixie allows users to synthesize their work into a website, slideshow, movie, or picture. Additionally, this creativity software provides users with not only "for fun" clip art, but, clip art geared towards learning, ie: life cycle stages, math dominos, coins, states, etc. As an added bonus, Pixie offers a "talk" feature which when in use, allows users to click on the aforementioned stickers to hear the name of the sticker. This feature is great for ELL, ESL, and below grade level readers. Pixie offers endless educational opportunities for students of all learning styles and abilities! Not a day goes by where I don't use Pixie in my media center!

Pixie is the best software for Kindergarten to fifth grade. My students love this program. They call me mr. pixie because they love this program. My students draw with this program, they created cool edge with their digital pictures, they even create e-books(electronic). This program is awesome. I highly recommend this software over all the other. The company is a stellar company.

My Son is in kindergarten and brought home a flyer for purchasing Pixie 3 with a school discount code for about 1/2 price of retail. Otherwise I would have never known of this product.

Only rated this as a 3 Star as my kids have not played with it yet so I don't know how well it was received. So far as I can tell, this is very similar to MS Paint with some added features. I will just have to see how intuitive it is for a 6 and 4 year old to play with.

Program works great and I love it. I use it to teach my students animation and art skills. I highly recommend it!

A terrific project-based software product that allows students to draw, write with text boxes, do minor to wacky photo editing, and create slideshows to share their products with others. Includes lots of options for printing and exporting. Perfect for kids aged 4-10 and maybe a bit older. As an elementary teacher, I strongly recommend for both classroom and home use. Great company support.

I teach kinder-5th grade and the kids LOVE this program. It is great for at home or school. All my kids ask how to get this program to use outside of school. There are coloring pages they can color in ... there are activities such as pattern practice, or math/money practice, or holiday activites for every month, etc. They can create text boxes and type stories and narrate them and illustrate them and turn them into a slideshow or print them out as a little book. There are stickers, paint brushes, shapes,spray paint tools, the possibilites are endless and the kids are entertained for hours on this program!
