Very good early reader!,

There is art to the economy of words in this book. The author was able to not only keep the story moving along with 2 word sentences, but to tell the story with humor and wit. We borrowed this one from school--it was so hard to give it back we decided to just buy our own!

My one-year-old absolutely loves this story. I read it to him right before his lullaby. He sits and rubs the pages as I read aloud. I believe the last page helped him learn how to wave good-bye. I need a new copy as he has ripped off the covers.

This book is written with several eight-word couplets, one or two for every two page spread. The language is very simple, easy to sound out, and the story is a simple, short one as well. Perfect for the "early reader" genre.
