This review is from: The Place We Call Home: Exploring the Soul's Existence after Death (Paperback)
So many books out there on life after death cover one aspect of this vast subject. In "The Place We Call Home," the author has answered a wide variety of universal questions concerning this subject and drawn from very credible sources. I'd read Dr. George Ritchie's book on his near-death experience, in the Place We Call Home, the author obviously interviewed him and brought out amazing details not included in Ritchie's books. Ritchie glimpsed the realms of heaven and hell - and Grant found correlations from diverse sources that shed so much light and all agreed! Grant detailed that God loves us unconditionally; but it is human beings who create their own hellish after-death state by hating their fellow man;harboring prejudices;being vengeful. Ritchie, Edgar Cayce, British writer Helen Greaves, all said where we go after this life depends upon how much we chose to love, to forgive, being kind, etc., all the virtues of the spirit. In short, all that we build in this life goes with us after death. Those who hate will find themselves in a place after death that reflects that. Edgar Cayce experienced the hellish realms in visions, and Dr. Ritchie saw the same things. However, unlike the fundamentalists beliefs, there is no eternal damnation. Grant managed to show a multifaceted picture that every soul has the opportunity to move out of the "shadowlands"; this is based not on one person's view, but on many. He also writes how we can work with dreams to help heal the grief from a loved one's passing. Dreams are a doorway, according to Grant, where our loved ones can communicate with us. In short, they still hear us and love us;and if we've got unfinished business, guilt, remorse like,"I wished I'd told her Iloved her before she died," the book shows, beautifully, that love can't die and it's never too late to say the things in our heart. They shed the body, at death, but that's it--they still love us and they feel our hurts, pain, and our joy. We've been taught it's too late after they're dead. Grant has a step-by-step exercise that brought me GREAT HEALING...I know now, like Grant said,"the bonds of love are spiritual, not physical...and they continue to exist after death..." What a relief, a joy and a treasure this book is. He discusses what happens during the dying process at the soul level - and that relieved and helped me so much. And reading it made me want to be aboutthe business of being kind, loving, compassionate NOW. Hell is seeing after you die that you chose not to forgive or be kind. And according to Grant, we will all have to review every thought, deed, and act of our lives. And we will experience the impact we had through the eyes of every person we helped, andthose that we hurt. That saying, "he's gone to his reward," is truer than anything. We go after death, to what we've built, and we inherit it. I thank God for this book. I have a new chance everyday to make a difference. And the good we just try to do here, according to Grant, goes out and uplifts the entirety of the universe! And yes,"that which you sow, (here on earth),"so shall ye reap"(afterdeath). This book made me stop and ask,"What am I building?" EVERYONE should read this book....There is a Light at the end of the Tunnel! (please edit this, I know Iwentoff on a tangent...if you don't print it,Iunderstand....maybe someonethere on your staff will pick up this book. If one person does, then my mission is fulfilled!

5.0 out of 5 stars HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FROM A VERY ADVANCED SOUL, April 19, 2004
This review is from: The Place We Call Home: Exploring the Soul's Existence after Death (Paperback)
The author, Rob Grant, is one of the foremost authorities on the Cayce readings, having studied, catalogued and put them on CD-ROM over a period of five years. Being personally acquainted with the author, I will tell you that he is one of the most advanced souls I've ever met -- genuinely loving, kind, compassionate, helpful, open-minded and throughly knowledgeable about the Cayce readings. His book, The Place We Call Home, reflects all of these. It is a book that gives much hope to the terminally ill, as well as to all seekers. He has written a concise book enlightening the reader with all Edgar Cayce said about passing over to the other side and what we will find there. I have also met George Ritchie, whose near death experience Rob Grants refers to in his book and who wrote a best seller back in the 1960 called "Return from Tomorrow," from which much about which we understand about death and dying came. These two men, more than anyone else, have convinced me of the reality of the afterlife and what one can expect to find there.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WONDERFUL, HOPEFUL and LOVING BOOK!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!, May 9, 2005

In the last few years I have read many spiritual books, and this is now one of my favorites.

The author draws on the readings of Edgar Cayce, as well as the views of several others, to discuss the realms that await us after death. A great asset of this book is that it shows how our thoughts and beliefs will actually impact the realm we find ourselves in upon death. For instance, although God does not damn anyone to a hellish afterlife, if someone believes that that is what they will find, they will. However, no one is stuck in a "negative" realm forever - there is always help available to those who are ready to give up their "earth-bound" thoughts.

The author also discusses the importance of prayer and meditation in preparing our souls for the afterlife, and he has included several exercises to help readers with the process.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone interested in spirituality, the after-life, &/or Edgar Cayce's readings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Insights into how we create our post-life realiy, February 15, 2002
By
This review is from: The Place We Call Home: Exploring the Soul's Existence after Death (Paperback)
I found this boot to be deeply insightful and useful. The author's interweave examples of people's actual experiences. They they interweave some of the universal dynamics and laws expressed in the Cayce readings that repeatedly state how we live 'here' WILL affect us 'there'.
The themes and lessons are very simple and clear. We are creating our 'heaven's and hell's', our 'future state', right now because every thought, word and deed IS a holographic reality and our heavens and/or hells, exist to the direct degree on how fearful or loving we are willing to be.
Such wisdom, said throughout history by virtually all wisdom traditions, can be, depending on our level of awareness and integration, either terribly frightening, or incredibly strengthening. The book attempts to integrate these themes throughout, for those who care to 'see them' and learn from them. For those seekers who really DO want to know about 'God's other door' (as Cayce called death), I can not recommend this book highly enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read, wonderfully written, November 5, 2006
This review is from: The Place We Call Home: Exploring the Soul's Existence after Death (Paperback)
Grant is published by ARE Press, as are other authorities on Cayce.
His writing style is clear and interesting, and his books are anecdotal and entertaining, as well as informative .

He is one of five people who spent five years reading every single Cayce reading in the library of the ARE, and putting it on CD. That means if Cayce said it, Grant read it.

This makes him one of the foremost authorities on Cayce, today.

One does not need to be a student of Cayce, or interested in his foundation to enjoy this book. It is for anyone seeking answers to life after death.
I encourage you to give it a try!

5.0 out of 5 stars Comforting and Affirming, January 6, 2009
This review is from: The Place We Call Home: Exploring the Soul's Existence after Death (Paperback)
After my father died I woke up in the middle of the night by persistent thoughts in my head. The thoughts were, all souls go home but it takes some souls longer than others and prayer helps the souls of the departed find their way home. The message was so strong I went to my computer and entered the message in Google. It directed me to "The Place We Call Home: Exploring thew Soul's Existence after Death", by Robert Grant. I ordered the book and it arrived shortly after. I can't tell you what a comfort the book was and continues to be. It reaffirmed the messages I had head that night and presented new information that struck a chord and vibrated in my heart and soul. Thank you so much Robert Grant for the comfort you brought to me during the difficult time of my father's passing, and easing my own fear of death. Your compassion, dedication and insight is a blessing to many.

5.0 out of 5 stars The End of A Quest., February 21, 2011
This review is from: The Place We Call Home: Exploring the Soul's Existence after Death (Paperback)
This book is for me the apex of 8 years of a consuming search of ancient history and biblical teaching, and is the end point of my quest for the truth. For one who is seeking, it fits together the beliefs of the world's religions like a puzzle falling into place. It answers the ultimate question of what Jesus did for us, and why we need him in our lives to attain what we Christians call "salvation." In short, Jesus assumed upon himself the Karma of all those who believe in him. We are done playing out our Karma, and we go to be in "Heaven" with God forever! Glorious! I truly believe that Edgar Cayce was sent by God to answer these questions and provide comfort to those who want to know Him and Jesus, His Son.
