About the Author

Mary Grossnickle was a foster child and was adopted as a toddler. She provides education and support to adoptive families in Wisconsin, where she lives on a lake and is visited frequently by chipmunks and squirrels.

I tend to gravitate toward the children's adoption related books that feature animals as main characters since it transcends gender and ethnicity. I LOVE this book. It drives home the message of unconditional love and the unique role every family member has in making the family a "whole." If you are looking for a great gift for new adoptive parents this is a must!
