This book picks up right where the first book left off. I really like it when authors do that, it really keeps the flow going. I wish I could express in words how good this series is, I guess if I could do that I would be an author myself. I don't like it when reviewers tell the story as the review, that just ruins it for me, if you've read any of my reviews you know this already so without giving away too many details I can't say enough READ THIS BOOK! You will love the characters, you will love the plot, storyline, all of it. This is a great read!!!

The first book was really good and I was so happy to order the 2nd book in the series immediately...and am now sorry I didn't listen to the less than stellar reviews. There were just so many 4-5 star reviews that I decided to go ahead and get it anyway.

Pro's
*I like the different direction the story-line takes...it's new and fresh, and as someone who loves zombie stories it was something I'd never seen before.
*While the above only looks like one "Pro" this encompasses quite a bit and since I don't want to ruin it for someone who does read this, I will just say that there are a couple really neat parts of the story; one that expands upon Tommy and his unique abilities from the first book. Also, the types of zombies they begin to encounter, along with the biggest change which is to introduce another nemesis into the story line...

Con's
*The frequent F-bombs that Mike lets out don't add to the story-line. Also, his personality doesn't really go with the new frequent usage. If he'd used them as often during the first book, I would probably already be used to it, but even so, the usage sometimes is out of context and just doesn't fit with the Mike Talbot we already know.
*The "asides" that he has on almost every other page are just too distracting. These don't add to the actual story and while I can see the humor in the asides (most of them) <--no pun intended with my own here, there are way too many of them and by the time I reached the halfway point, I was just skimming through until the story picked back up. I am a voracious reader, so if I'm skimming through something, it's either not interesting or not very good.
*The development of the new/expanded characters was lacking.

This is a fantastic sequel. It's so much fun to walk in the mind of our hero once more. Once again I was drawn in and hooked, unable to put this book down til life forced it out of my hands. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Waiting on pins and needles for the next installment.

Zombie Fallout 2 "A Plague Upon Your Family" not only picks up where the first book left off, it pretty much picks up the whole zombie fiction genre then drops it on it's collective ass. I don't know which has more twists, the storyline or Mike Tolbert's psyche. I read this book in one day, not because I had nothing better to do, but because once I started reading it, I felt like I was betraying every character in the book if I didn't stick it out with them for the duration. Mark Tufo's raw and real writing style makes you feel less like a reader of a story and more a participant who is being brought up to speed as to what they missed while out looking for Pop Tarts. The strangest things creep into your mind during stressful times and Mark's exploration of these seemingly absurd things make me chuckle. "OK, maybe I'm not the only guy that thinks about sex, sex, food, sex and sex" during a life threatening situation. A damn good story from the most natural storyteller I have ever read.

I was actually avoiding this series due to the cover art that is displayed. After the first book I immediately turned on the Wi-Fi on the Kindla and downloaded this one. This book goes more into the history of the epidemic and is really interesting. The main character is exactly the type of person that most men such as myself actually are from my experience. It is funny to read his thought process and relate it to my own. This author has touched a nerve and any man will understand it and if women want a direct line into how a man thinks of certain things than they should read this book it is better than any phsychology book into the working of a mans mind.

If you read Zombie Fallout, then you already know what to expect. Talbot's adventure continues with new twists and turns and his humor is still there, as funny as ever. You will be as surprised as him when you encounter certain....totally unexpected developments :)Its really a great book and you will not feel as if the sequel doesn't live up to the original. but then again, if you read the first book, I don't have to convince you.
