5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for
This is a lovely wool scarf. I'm a middle-aged female and I got it in the plum color to match my winter jacket. The photo on the listing on amazon.com is very representative of the actual scarf. The scarf is a muted heather plaid on one side and solid on the other. The solid fabric on the reverse gives it just a little more shape and thickness. Exactly what I was...

3.0 out of 5 stars Half OK
It is ok by half, but not nearly as great advertised --there is a big surprise -- but really not so good. It may be made of wool, but poorly constructed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Scarf~!, February 22, 2011

I ride my Harley-Davidson motorcycle when temps plummet into the single digits. The cold leather collar of my jacket is no comfort to my throat and neck, therefore I prefer a scarf wrapped once around my neck and tucked into the front of my jacket. I ordered one of these scarves and love the feel of the lightly tufted wool surface against my skin. There is also nothing I have found that naturally seals body warmth inside while wicking away perspiration like 100% cashmere wool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tight knit and soft, February 22, 2011

Feels almost more like felt, which I think takes away from the look but it is very soft. I am happy with this scarf.

2.0 out of 5 stars Winter Scarves, January 29, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was very disappointed in this scarf. The accompanying info on it and the revues by others made no sense. One person claimed that the colors were vibrant and the wool was especially soft. Who cares about either qualities? Neither has nothing to do with protection from the elements. The distributors claim that it is a heavy knit scarf, which it isn't. I live in New England, and the winters here are terribly cold. It seems impossible to buy a good scarf at a reasonable price that will protect from the temperature from any of the gypo chain stores so I foolishly went to internet, which has hundreds of offers, none of them accurate. I finally found what I wanted for $25 at an out of doors Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair in my locality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice scarf, good value, November 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought three different scarves and saved 50% over store purchase. **Note - have them dry cleaned before wearing with a dress shirt; lots of lint. After dry cleaning, no lint and looks great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Really, really warm but dye bleeds, November 4, 2011

The scarf is very warm, making me sweat in the upper 30s F. I do wish it was patterned on both sides. It feels a bit short for me, but that may just be an illusion because it is so wide. The width makes it feel bulky underneath my coat. The real shock for me was during some very light sleet a week ago. When I took the scarf off, I found a burgundy ring on the collar of my white dress shirt. Normally I wash it once and run it through the dryer and the color won't bleed anymore. But this scarf is dry clean only. Now it leaves me concerned about screwing up my clothes when I wear it in inclement weather. The bright red one must be a disaster! If I can figure out how to make the color stop running on my clothes I'd bump this from 3-->4 stars, docking one for the bulk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice scarf!, October 6, 2011

This is a very nice, heavy wool scarf. It looks very nice as well. It being wool, it is scratchy around the neck. But with cold weather just around the corner, it will be welcome. I plan to use it to keep the cold from my neck and chin while riding my motorcycle because I don't like the neck gators that most bikers use. I'm sure it will be effective.

Addendum: I got to put it to the test this past weekend. It was 33 degrees when I left out on my motorcycle for a 65 mile trip. I did a double wrap around my neck and rode the 65 miles at 70 miles an hour and let me tell you, this thing kept my neck warm! I wish I had bought one years ago. Of course it's a little sticky, being wool and you'll get some "hairs" in your mouth, but it's worth it to keep warm. I plan to ride my bike all winter, unless it snows!

I don't even own this yet, but can see it is needed for my climate and will accommodate my needs in a very lovely way. The colors are fabulous! The scarf is long, for many wraps when needed. It's wool, for great warmth. What more could I want?
