I bought the stiffener after reading about it on a craft blog and thought it might work for my project. I have been using it to stiffen a stuffed animal so that I could make it into a lamp. So far it is working well. I wish there was some way to know how many applications it would take for different types of material. I have noticed that with a regular cotton print it hardens nicely after two applications. But, with corduroy I have applied three coats and it still isn't that stiff. All in all I am satisfied.

I am Mrs. Hays. Years ago I began crocheting snowflake ornaments and putting them in my Christmas cards. The list keeps growing and some folks have a lot of them. I use Plaid stiffener and everyone comments that the ornaments have stayed the same for all this time! It is my favorite product.

This stuff really works. I bought it to see if I could restore old knitted kippahs (skulcaps) to new condition, and it worked great. You can't see the stuff at all after it dries. Also, I found that I could reshape the item by wetting it with hot water, setting the new shape, and allowing it to re-dry. I did this several times without reapplying the Stiffy, with no loss of stiffening. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I'd prefer to see some instructions for use and a list of ingredients. Does it contain animal products? Acrylic? Couldn't find anything in the packaging or at the product site.
