This review is from: Plain Notebook A3 (Moleskine Srl) (Hardcover)
This notebook exhibits typical Moleskine properties. If you've ever used any of the other Moleskines, you'll know what to expect. Good paper (not the best, but you know what to expect), solid cover, elastic band, and a huge pocket in the back.
I was concerned prior to ordering a notebook this large is that the cover material wouldn't be sturdy enough to hold up to pressure on the left hand page from a resting hand. I can definitely say that it is solid enough for even the heaviest hand, the cover seems even more sturdy than the "large" size that I'm most accustomed too. I was also concerned about the possibility of the corners dinging. I haven't noticed that, but I'm more ginger with this one than any of my others that I regularly use, meaning I'm not tossing it in and out of book bags or carrying it around with me all day. To be honest, it's simply too big to do that, so I don't think it should be a concern.
The main thing you'll notice about this notebook, is simply the overwhelming bulk of this thing. It is huge. I'm not used to any of the A-size papers, so really didn't know what to truly expect, and even though I measured an approximate size, it still stunned me when I opened the box it was shipped in. It's even bigger when you open it up. For anyone else who doesn't have a good scale, grab 4 sheets of 8.5x11" letter paper, and lay them 2x2, oriented landscape wise. That's basically how big this thing is unfolded. And you have the accompanying weight of the cover and heavy paper. It weighs 3 pounds 14.75 ounces (1,780g) and just has a heft to it that can't be described.
If you need a notebook this big, definitely this is the way to go. If you don't know, or are terrified of white space (trust me, there's a lot of it here), I'd suggest going down a size to the A4 notebook (in addition to having line or grid options). You won't be disappointed either way.

I have searched for notebooks sized large. Moleskine folio A3 is the biggest I have ever used. Quality of paper is good and hard book cover is excellent. Big is Wonderful! I am very happy that I purchased it.

Huge!, January 18, 2012
This review is from: Plain Notebook A3 (Moleskine Srl) (Hardcover)
I should have watched the video on the Amazon product page. Totally agree with the other reviews: this thing is absolutely huge. Bigger than what I wanted or expected, but I think I'll get used to it. As far as I can tell, it's just a regular plain Moleskine on a much larger scale. One quibble: the standard elastic retaining band seems a bit unequal to the task. But hey, this thing's not going in a briefcase or backpack. Overall, really, really cool!
