Plains Indian Designs,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Plains Indian Designs (International Design Library) (Paperback)
I bought this book in hopes of finding Native American designs and their meanings. This book has primitive black and white line drawings of mostly Indians, horses, battles and a few other animals and totems. It has 3 pages of introduction which is a brief description of North American geographic, flora and fauna, and a paragraph each on the Natives of eight tribes, Arapaho, Cheyenne, Comanche, Crow, Kiowa, Mandan, Pawnee, and Sioux. There is 1 page of sources that lists the title/description of the artwork, circa, tribe (if known), and location of collections. The source page also lists the page number of each drawing but this book's pages are not numbered and is confusing. A very poor source of information and artwork.
