Plains Murder is the 74th book in the Gunsmith Series by J. R. Roberts. In this book, Clint Adams, The Gunsmith, has to babysit a Russian baron, traveling the West for a buffalo hunt and to see "American Indians". Along the way, Clint must solve a series of murders. This is a typical Gunsmith book and a good one.
