A Generous Helping of Chicago Blues,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Got A New Plan (Audio CD)
Clocking in at almost 65 minutes and 14 songs this is a generous helping helping of some of the best modern Chicago Blues that is being made today. When I first got this album I liked it. Now that I have had it for a way I love it. Some of the highlights of the album include 'My Daddy was Right', 'Work Your Hips', 'Poison Ivy' and the closing instrumental '(Kind of) Ghetto'. The Flip Tops are a great band and Nick Moss is the real deal. Their most recent studio album Sallie Mae was nominated for blues album of the year and is one of my favorite albums period. If you like the blues and in particular Chicago style of the blues then check out Nick and the boys. Buy this album - You will not be disappointed.
After listening to this album for a couple of years now and having the pleasure to listen to other offerings from the Nick Moss catalog I gotta say I love this album. This is my favorite Nick Moss album and an absolute gem of a blues album period. If you are looking for something new and enjoy Chicago style blues buy this album.
