Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

The aging of the baby boomers heralds in its own way a rush to proffer advice and counsel on all topics, from reinventing lives to investing wisely for the short and longer terms. This experienced financial professional jumps at the opportunity of focusing on the latter. Accountant Grangaard, author of The Grangaard Strategy: Invest Right during Retirement (2003), takes the much-used perspective on savings, plotting out in 25 steps exactly how to plan for retirement--without focusing, exactly, on what that means. The usual terms are defined and accompanied by many statistical tables: compounding, rates of return, diversification, dollar-cost averaging, and annuities, among others. The information is good, albeit somewhat slanted since self-promotion is involved. Nonetheless, it lacks personal examples and a way for readers to determine what their individual retirement looks like. Barbara Jacobs

Easy to understand discussion of how to manage funds during retirement. The 1st 64 pages should be required reading for everyone who invests in securities. This is a wonderful starting place for young adults and young (inexperienced) investors of any age.

This review is from: Plan Right for Retirement with the Grangaard Strategy (Paperback)
Grangaard proposes an alternative to 'systematic withdrawl' or retirement funds and compelling reasons to consider his theory. He convinced me! The book contains several detailed technical analyses that the reader MUST spend time studying. Most explainations are well done. Unfortunately this is the only book of it's kind so it's not possible to compare it to other presentations.
