We purchased these for the Victorian Doll House, also from Plan Toys. As in the rest of this company's line, the materials are made from replenishable rubber tree wood and colored with non-toxic vegetable dye. That said, the family figures are a bit on the dull side, the father looks like he wears a bad toupee, the clothes are affixed to the bodies, and if they were taken off you'd be confronted with an armature of wood and resin-coated braided steel.

On the other hand, they are super durable, withstanding wild raging tantrums and the crunching heft of a mother-in-law's clawed foot. They also stand upright quite well.

We bought these dolls along with the Plan Toys dollhouse and stable. Our 3-year-old daughter loves them, and plays with them often. If you're looking for a dollhouse or doll accessories that aren't plastic, or aren't modeled after a TV character, I highly recommend this line of toys. These are the kind of toys your kids will be able to hand down to their kids someday. The dolls are very "positionable" - they sit well in the chairs, and are well balanced enough with large enough feet that the stand pretty easily, too.

We have the doll house and some furniture and the addition of the family was a great thing. My 2 yr old daughter and 4 yr old son, keep rearranging the dolls in different positions onto the chairs and into the beds. It looks like a toy that will last a lifetime - wood and durable fabrics versus plastic.

I bought these dolls to accompany the Plan Toys Doll House and furniture sets my 2 yr old niece was getting for Christmas. They are a great value - the feet, hands, and head are made of solid wood, while the body and limbs are made of a sturdy rope-covered wire. The hair is made of yarn and the clothes are nice but simple. The result is a set of timeless, very posable, very durable, and, gauging my niece's enjoyment, very fun dolls. Highly recommended.

We bought this for my daughter who turned 2 1/2 on Christmas and received a Ryan's Room-type wooden dollhouse. It was very difficult to find a Caucasian family in stock, but luckily we found this one by Plan Toys. She loves them, and loves that they are representative of our own family members. This play family has really jumpstarted her imagination process and I see her putting them in more situations every day. The quality is good, although we haven't been using them long enough to know whether any of the pieces will break. Overall, I would highly recommend this product and would buy similar pieces from this company in the future.

We bought MY First Dollhouse for our twin girls' second birthday and furnished it with all the Plan Toys classic furniture accessories. So, we had to get the dolls. I checked out Pottery Barn's dollhouse dolls and although "better" dressed, the overall quality was poor and cheap looking. I went with this family and am happy. The "Modern" family just looked too wild, yet this family is too hokey. The boy and dad seem cool, but the females look old-fahsioned.

Overall, it serves the purpose and the quality is exceptional...but the day may come when I attempt to re-dress the females to be a tad more hip!

These are great toys! They are cute and very durable as well as bendable (they will sit in chairs, etc.). I couldn't be more pleased, as I have many children who play with our dollhouse- these little people are sturdy and fun to play with.

I am also impressed with the different families available- Asian, Hispanic, etc. I am tempted to order another type of family too!

This was for my 3year old granddaughter for her birthday along with a doll house and furniture. We waited to give the doll house last because it was put together by Grandma.

She opened the family and sat them on the table , then she opened the furniture same thing, no comment, then when she opened the doll house she put furniture and baby brother in bed and put herself in kitchen I think Dad ended up in bath tub,she walked Mom around the house talking to her.

No question they were a hit and even two weeks later still being played with everyday, her younger brother put the family in his trucks and cars.

So I purchased the modern family this week. I would recommend these toys because of safety features. I have already ordered more items.

I really like these no-frills wooden/wire dolls. They remind me of the way toys were made way back when. We've played with them for a year now and my daughter loves them. Aside from mom's hair getting a bit wild if you don't somehow fasten or hot-glue it down (I'm a hot-glue fanatic), these things might take years to destroy. The clothes don't come off, but I had to hot-glue mom's skirt to her body to keep it from falling off, same with dad's pants. They work perfectly in our Kidkraft Cherry Hill Dollhouse Deluxe (another great buy). Their arms and legs bend so they can sit and stand. We even made a little wooden baby to add to the happy little family.

It is a very nice dollhouse family. The one problem is that the mother and father's pants and skirt keep falling down. There is only one small block of wood for their body, so that could be the problem with there pants/skirt are falling down. However, I love to play with my dolls. I enjoy them very much, and if you are looking for dolls I would suggest you get them. :-)
