This review is from: Plan Toy Tori (Toy)
We live in a very small home. I really wanted a rocking horse for my son, and picked this one because it folds down. One thing to know, is in order to fold it down, you must unscrew a long hex bolt, with the included (embedded) hex driver. At first, I was disappointed because it means you can't fold it unfold it after every use. However, I quickly realized that it would never be a safe, sturdy toy if they had used any other folding mechanism (look up danger of folding chairs/table for children! Oye! I was worried that it would scratch easily like some of the small plan toys I have. No need to worry- this shows no wear after nearly 2 yrs of nearly constant use in a home daycare-like setting! I've only folded it down once, because as soon as I do, it's asked for again.
It has a very small footprint/profile... so we usually end up putting it behind a piece of furniture if we do need it to disappear for a short while.
Rocking horses are great for stimulating the vestibular system and working on coordination and muscle work. Best of all, they hopefully, will be used for pretend play- a knight racing towards a dragon to save the princess, etc...
If I had my rathers, it would have some kind of mane and tail, to increase the appeal to children and for extending pretend play. I would recommend this again, esp. for budget-conscious green consumers
