Miracle pounder is a hit!,

Okay, so pardon the above pun, but my son has loved the pounder since 6mo of age. We look for quality toys from SAFE companies. Plan Toys provides safe toys free from BPA, phthalates, or lead paint. The balls are stained, not painted, so they won't ever chip! We also look for toys that will grow with our child.
As an infant, he liked to mouth/teeth on the balls and mallet. When he started crawling, he had TONS of fun crawling after the balls on our hardwood floors. They were great crawling incentives. Then, he worked on dumping things out, and now, at 9.5 months, he is working on putting the balls back in. I know the Mallet will eventually double as a hammer for work projects, and someday, it will be great for teaching color sorting/cause and effect and coordination/motor skills. It will be a long time, I think, until he is able to use it for it's intended use. Before they are able to use the mallet to move the balls, the child can press the balls down to make the next one pop up. It's wonderful! (And the balls fit other Plan ball toys, too.)

I loved the idea of this toy, so I got this for my toddler. I though that the balls were contained withint the unit, so he could just keep pounding them down, not take them out. In reality the toy was hardly used because my children were mostly interested in throwing the balls around, or hitting other things with the hammer, since the balls are heavy wooden balls, that just wasn't going to work for us. This one ended up in the yard sale 3 months after christmas.

We bought the MIRACLE POUNDING TOY for my 17 month old son. He has gotten several months of enjoyment out of it.
The colorful wooden balls get taken out and played with all over the house. He also sits and plays with it more as designed, pushing a ball into one opening and watching another ball get pushed out the lower opening. Yoy may or may not want to have the hammer out. We find that the MIRACLE POUNDING TOY is enjoyed without it, and so currently have retired the hammer (so as to avoid the "pound on this not that" discussion). Thumbs up for this simple, colorful, durable, interesting toy!

I wanted a wooden pounding toy to teach hand-eye coordination and cause and effect to my baby, and this is the perfect one. I like that another ball is always ready to be pounded down so that the play can be continuous. I also like it because there are no balls to chase after. They stay in the toy instead of being pounded down, falling out, and rolling around everywhere. This toy is also made very well like other toys by this company.

My son is 15 months and loves to pound on things and loves balls. Perfect. However, I misjudged his motor skills. This toy is just a little too advanced for him at this stage. He gets the pounding on things part of it, but not the pound on this ball and another one pops out part. The balls are loose, so he prefers to just fling them around. Hence, the toy has been put away for 6 months, and then we'll try again.
My husband and I, however, had a lot of fun with it. It's like a mini Whack a Mole. ;) And Plan Toys in general rocks. Solid construction. Beautiful design.

This toy is pretty cool. I bought this for my 9 month old for x-mas - you have a constant stream of balls to pound and my older son likes it - he's 3 - and he played with it for quite a while. I am guessing the 9month old will grow into it, but he's a little young for it at the moment. It's made out of nice wood and seems like the type of toy you could keep around for future kids (or even your kids' kids someday...) - as opposed to cheap plastic toys.

While I know this isn't really the manufacturer's fault, my son can never enjoy this toy because 1 or more of the balls is always lost (and the toy doesn't work without all of the balls). It might be fun if we consistently had all the balls but in our house we just can't seem to keep them all in one spot.

I love this toy! And my 1.5 year old nephew does too. We both like hitting things with hammers, so it was only natural that this toy would be a hit with both of us....lol.

Great product. Aesthetically pleasing, streamlined design, and makes nice thwacking sound when the balls are whacked. A little too difficult for a 15 month old but lots of fun awaits in the future.

I love Plan Toys - safe, educational, and fun. They use rubberwood from trees that no longer can be used for this purpose, and use safe food-grade stains instead of paint. My boy has been playing with this toy since he was 9 months old, and at 13 months still finds new ways to play with it. The balls are stained, so persistent mouthing has not damaged the paint. This is remarkable, since Haba blocks have not been as resistant. He still has not grasped the idea of hitting the balls with a mallet, so I expect this toy to provide entertainment a while longer.
