Customer Reviews

The dollhouse is really well made.

My son takes off the curved roof because he can access the inside better, so it's nice that it comes off easily.

I recommend buying the other household appliances/items to go along with it.

The concept of a lifelike dollhouse was a bit foreign to our toddler, but soon enough, her Fisher-Price Little People moved in; and both big and small versions meshed well with the furniture. Then the Asian family with baby and nursery decided to eat and sleep outdoors. Then the kitchen was converted into a garage with a stop sign to mark the end of the parking spot -- which we took to mean that she wanted our car back in the garage as she had often mentioned. Maybe any dollhouse would have done the job of allowing the child to express herself but this one is great because it is open on all sides, and raises discussions about conservation. Although well-designed and built, this toy is probably more appropriate for children who are willing to be gentle with their toys. The quality is absolutely amazing: no loose threads, soft fabrics, no exposed glue, and everything fits together like a beautiful puzzle.

The dollhouse is everything the description states. It is very cute and my 4 year old daughter loves playing with it. But, it has one major design flaw. The roof sits on top of pegs that come out of the top of the walls. All is well as long as you don't try to move the house or accidentally bump the roof. If this happens, the roof pops off of the pegs and the walls start to come off the base. This causes the sun shade to fall out. A child can't put the roof back on when it falls apart. It takes at least two adult hands to re-align the walls, hold pressure on the sun shade, line the roof pegs up and slide the roof on. I realize that the intention of the design is to not have glue, screws, etc. But, they need to find a way to secure the roof from popping off of the pegs unintentionally.

I almost didn't get this dollhouse for my 2.5 year old because there were no reviews on it and I didn't know how much she would like it but I am SO happy that I got in anyway! She LOVES this dollhouse. When she saw this house on Christmas morning all of her other presents didn't exist anymore. She started playing with the house immediately. I did buy one of the Plan Toys family sets to go with it and she loves playing with her "little people" and her dollhouse.
The house itself was really easy to put together and looks great! It's also fun to point out and talk about the solar panel and wind power parts. She enjoys playing with the recycling bins too. It's great that the house comes with furniture but I have to be honest that at my daughters age she doesn't really seem to care about it too much. It mostly just winds up on the floor and she plays with the family in the house without the furniture. One day she will use the furniture so it's nice to have it.
The dollhouse is really well made. I mean, my daughter is tough on toys and this one is taking her beating REALLY well. Nothing broken so far. :)
It's a wonderful looking dollhouse. It's a great size and she will get many years of play out of it. She loves playing with it and it's well made. What more could I ask for?

I've been wanting to get my two children a dollhouse and when I saw that there were a couple of eco-dollhouses on the market, I was sold. After looking at this and another option, I chose this one because I liked the shade and the furniture design. Although it didn't come with any people, it was fully furnished and I was able to order people to go with it. The house is very eco-friendly. It is made of recycled wood and rubber wood and there is minimal paint used on it. Also the bedding is made of organic cotton. The only aspect of the house I am not thrilled with is the design of the windmill: it doesn't turn which isn't very fun for the girls. The recycle bins and rain barrel are neat--I'm going to get some pieces of paper and plastic to put into the bins. My mother-in-law gave us the garden which is the perfect companion to the house. Overall, a great toy.

Hello, I must say I thought this would be the perfect addition to our homestead. Introducing energy conservation ideas to kids through play, fantastic idea! My husband argued the cost, I assured him it was a worthy investment. So sure enough there it was, Christmas morning. Our kids were thrilled... This only lasted until one of the support beams began to lean... and stairs began to fall off of the set... Then finally another beam began to lean, eventually working lose, and disconnecting from the structure all together. There is now a split in the wood of the main floor from trying to screw the beam back into position. Leaving us all not so thrilled. We contacted Plan Toys with no return response. This mom will not be purchasing plan toys until further notice.

We were looking for a doll house for over a year, initially bought this massive doll house from Costco which didn't even fit in our car.
When we saw the eco house, we were sold right away. Who doesn't want to teach the kids about recycle and being "green", right?
Upon arrival, construction was very easy. If you can build an IKEA piece, this is a breeze. This isn't some cheap Chinese furniture with poor English instruction. In fact a nice instruction sheet came with the house, explaining all facts about green energy which was cool - I actually learned something from kids toy. Nice.
Once my kids started playing, I immediately notice that the slanted roof was not good design. It limits kids to stick hands inside of house and they get frustrated, resulted in removal of roof. The wall design is also bad idea, as they also block. Eventually kids took out all of furniture and doll out of house and they all live "homeless" and kids said the Sandy the hurricane broke the house and have to live outside, which I wasn't happy to hear.
So basically the kids are using this house as a storage unit when its time to clean up. So why not just buy a container and call it a "doll house"!?
Quality of material were superb, except one piece had crack. Other than that, this toy could use some face-lift.
