This is one of my son's very favorite toys from his 1st birthday/Christmas.

He was able to use it just a few weeks after learning to walk, and before that he rolled it on the floor. It makes a wonderfully pleasant sound (though it is a bit loud, but it's supposed to be). LOVE it so much more than the popper I grew up with. He "vacuums" with it, then it becomes a car, and even a guitar! It gets played with every single day.
LOVE Plan Toys for being non-toxic and a Green, eco-friendly company. There are two pop. european wood toy companies with similar products, and I will say that this one is much more substantial and of the three.

We own one and my 3 yr old still plays with it. My 11 mth old does as well although he doesn't go as fast as his older brother. Bought it as a gift for a one yr old and again the 3 yr brother stole it from her!

This is absolutely the most high quality, beautifully made push toy you will find for your child. The wood is gorgeous, the colors are bright without being jarring, and children just love the rattling noise. It is really a pleasant surprise to get such a well-made, heirloom-quality toy for this price.

Another wonderful fact-- PlanToys makes eco-friendly and safe toys that you will always feel good about giving to a child. Non-toxic paints, sustainable wood, and delightful, harmonious colors.

This thing is the best toddler toy I have ever seen! I bought this for my 18 month old son for Christmas and gave it to him a couple of months early because I knew he would love it and I couldn't wait to see him play with it. For two days, when he was home, he barely put the thing down. This is sorta like that classic popcorn popper toy that most kids have. However, my daughter had one of those and the noise that thing made made me want to pull my hair out; it was AWFUL! This toy is a bit loud, but it's an almost pleasant sound. The little wooden balls inside hit against each other and the rolling part when you walk with it.

Even though my son has had this roughly two months, he still plays with this more than anything he got three days ago for Christmas morning. :)

Also, another reviewer mentioned that the handle broke when someone stepped on it. I don't know the age/weight of that kid, but my 5 year old daughter has stepped on it repeatedly and it has been fine.

Bottom line: yes, this toy is about 30 bucks, and the plastic popcorn poppers are about 12 or 15. But I am telling you, BUY THIS ONE! You will NOT regret it.

I purchased this plan toy for my sons 1 year birthday. He still to this day (he just turned 2) loves this toy. It has been through a lot as well. Thrown down and abused by him and his other little friends. its not too noisy which is always a plus, and gets him up and moving. He likes to watch the wooden balls roll around when he pushes it slowly or fast. There's nothing really that can break or just stop working. I love wooden toys and I think its important to them to have things other than just plastic flashy things. I have recommended this to all my friends with little ones who are just learning to walk. Its been a long time enjoyed toy and still in great condition. Because of the quality of this item I have purchased other plan toys.

We got this for my son's first birthday and he absolutely loved it, even though he could not walk. He would sit and push it back and forth constantly. He is about to turn two and he's enjoyed it for the last year. He now walks with it almost on a daily basis, on the carpet or wood floors. I am a huge fan of Plan Toys and this push and pull walker has not disappointed us. We have also started to use it to teach him the different colors. Since the entire toy is made of wood, the balls inside do make a nice sound when pushed/pulled, it's nice to have the sound come from him when he uses it (cause and effect) rather than from a toy that dings and plays music constantly (battery operated).

I think my kids love this toy partly because it makes lots of noise! They really do play with this one - running up and down our long hallway gleefully. I restrict the hours of the day they can use it since we live in a condo and want to be considerate neighbors (not that you can avoid noise with kids in the house anyway). One small complaint - the red paint from the handle has scuffed our white walls a number of times.

I purchased 2 different push toys for my son. This one and Hape Push & Pull Lawnmower. I felt compelled to write a review comparing noise level. This toy is very LOUD. The Hape version, though smaller, is much more pleasant. I am going to return this one.
