5.0 out of 5 stars Very worthwhile instructional video
After not playing golf for almost 30 years, I picked it up again when I retired. I have now been playing for three years and will never threaten the PGA tour with my presence. I wasn't very good then, and I'm still a confirmed duffer. (Index around 20)

5.0 out of 5 stars Very worthwhile instructional video, April 5, 2009
This review is from: The Plane Truth for Golfers 3 DVD set plus Tips and Drills (Sports)
After not playing golf for almost 30 years, I picked it up again when I retired. I have now been playing for three years and will never threaten the PGA tour with my presence. I wasn't very good then, and I'm still a confirmed duffer. (Index around 20)

That aside, after a short time of renewing my golfing career, I took a series of lessons from the local pro. He was very good and very patient, but I just never quite felt comfortable with the swing. Deciding to try something a little different, I purchased Jim Hardy's book "The Plane Truth". It had a lot of ideas that made sense and I decided to change my swing to a flatter plane which he described as the One Plane Swing. As he said, I found that a lot of the tips one picks up were not suited to this swing. They can cause "Disasterous" results in his words. True.

I then got the videos to supplement the book and they have been very worthwhile. It was very helpful to actually see the lessons which were described in the book. He covers both swing types, the upright swing (Two Plane) and the flatter swing (One Plane), and you can select the type which fits your body, flexibility and temperament.

I've found that I hit the ball much farther than ever and can even hit it straight (usually). All in all, I have been very satisfied in the videos. For a price equal to 2 or 3 lessons with the local pro, they cannot be beat.

4.0 out of 5 stars Swing Plane, June 26, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Jim Hardy's DVD explanation of the mechanics of a one plane and two plane golf swing is excellent. The first disk where Mr. Hardy discuss the two swing types together is a little long and confusing but the second disk where each swing is broken down into segments is very clear. It has help me immensely to improve my one plane swing motion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth it., December 21, 2007

I bought the books first. I hesitated buying the DVD series thinking that it would not add anything above and beyond what is found in the books.

If you have the books and liked them, I would encourage you to buy the DVD series. His analogies are extremely helpful and build upon what was discussed in the books. Although, I don't believe reading the books is a requirement. I also found it helpful watching the pros perform their drills. I often found myself thinking while watching, "Oh! That is what he meant in the book!"

Just one of the many teaching videos on golf. Having read and seen other authors, I feel this is particularly confusing. If you are seeing this as the first lesson on golf, it might be useful. I am a beginner and had learnt a bit from other authors which were easy to follow. I was really confused with this plane truth stuff and tried to find which category I belonged to. Unfortunately, I injured my intercostals and have been laid off for 6 weeks. The author alternates between the two types and so the continuity is lost. He should have had separate continuos lessons in each type of swing which would make it easy to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality instruction here..It makes sense, September 15, 2007
The Plane Truth for Golfers DVD series is a great extension and follow up of Hardy's Book The Plane Truth for Golfers. Like The Book, he explains the differences between what he call the two types of swing planes in golf One Pane swings and Two Plane swings. What you get is his narration of the principals, and vision of Hardy himself explaining the movements and movments required for both swings. If you have read the book, and thought that more information is needed, then this DVD series is a wonderful follow up.

Mr Hardy's Commitment to his "two golf swing planes" philosophy is first class also. A Secrets Series of DVDs are available, where he follows up on specific areas of interest to his swing ideas. [...].

If the application of Hardy's principals of the golf swing interest you, then I can recommend this DVD series.

Jim does a great job in breaking down the advice into practical repeatable movements for the one plane and two plane golf swings. The tips and drills dvd is really good and gives you something to work on at the range. I started hitting the ball better and with better consistency.

5.0 out of 5 stars informative and understandable, January 21, 2009
This review is from: The Plane Truth for Golfers 3 DVD set plus Tips and Drills (Sports)
Jim Hardy's " The Plane Truth for Golfers" is the first instructional guide that I have seen which is easy to follow; easy to understand; has options; and has shown me what I need to do to help my type of swing. Most peoples instructional videos only give one option and that may or may not suit the viewers abilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Eye-Opening Instructional Opportunity! Well Worth the Price, December 24, 2007
Through much hard work and research, Jim Hardy HAS found the "Rosetta Stone" of the golf swing. His analytical but easy approach is by far the best golf video and book series that I have ever seen. It explains and packages the contradictory golf instructional information that we have all been getting throughout the years. This video series is jam-packed full of instruction; there is no advertising here. I only wish that this was available long ago. This will befit ALL golfers, including my eight year old son. The differences between the one and two plane swings will be the main teaching aid for years to come. The whole DVD set is well organized and through; Jim Hardy has found the answer to many of our problems. Thank you Jim!
