From deep in the steamy jungles of a world where "apes evolved from men," comes Thade, general of the oppressive ape army. This archenemy of Leo Davidson, the protagonist of the newest addition to the Planet of the Apes saga, looks amazingly like his movie counterpart, played by Tim Roth. Tyrannical Thade sits upon his battle steed with a menacing glare on his face, brandishing a ventilated saber. The steed, which is articulated only at the tail, stands 9 inches high atop a "rock-strewn" stand, dressed in full battle regalia. Thade himself stands 8 inches high from his feet (permanently fixed in the stirrups) to his impossibly pointy combat helmet (which gives the figure an added inch in height and can be removed to reveal Thade's pointy ears). The figure has some impressively intricate details, including a beautiful bas-relief of two golden apes posturing on his breastplate, realistic chain mail-like armor, and ape hair bursting out from the seams. He's articulated at the neck, arms, wrists, and legs. His knees don't bend, so he's permanently in a riding posture and cannot stand up on his own. He's got a tight grip on that saber, too. I am disapointed that people pay about 20 bucks for this toy and his knees do not move,I am sure people do not want him on his horse all the time. He comes off it but his knees are bent and he cant stand.For all the money we pay his knees should move.I thougt this one was the best.The others are great.If you prefer to keep him like that on display fine but if you want to play with this guy off his horse in a fight then this is not the toy for you.

I find this figure to be one of the best of all the new figures out there. The detail is incredible. Not too many action figures come with a horse that isn't western style. I couldn't believe that this figure was made specifically to be a child's toy. Thade has the look and feel of a true collector's item. His face and armor are highly detailed and as close to movie accurate as a toy can get. The same can be said for the horse. However, Thade cannot really stand up on his own. It's a long, tedious process to get him to do so. The horse doesn't stand well either without the rocky platform. His hands are also delicate and can be easily snapped off. That being said, this is a figure I wouldn't pass up. It is rare to find such a well-made figure at such a low price. A child will be entertained by it, but I feel as though a true collector would appreciate it more.
