Good gloves at a great price,

For spending $15 instead of the seemingly standard $30 for bicycle gloves, I am very happy with these. They are very comfortable, protect well against a cold wind, and the sweat-wiping cloth on the index finger and thumb is a nice touch.
My only complaint I have is about the velcro. Sometimes the lycra backing will get caught in the velcro and get ripped up a bit. I don't think it's going to fall apart or anything, but it seems to be a bit of bad design that will reduce the lifetime of the gloves. All in all, though, good gloves and a great price. Planet bike rocks!

They fit very nicely and are quite comfortable. They're nicely ventilated but give a good grip. I haven't yet fallen with them on, but I'm sure they'd protect the palms very well. On chilly mornings, they give me a fair amount of protection against the cold, not quite enough though, though you can't blame them -- there's no fingers!

The other reviews about this glove are pretty accurate but, if you notice no one mentions anything about the glove padding. That's because you would have to look real hard to find it. If you only care about looks than this is a nice glove else, do yourself a favor and spend a few dollars more and get a better glove.

Falling apart after 2 weeks,

I was excited to finally have a set of gloves when I bought these from my local shop. After my first week of normal use, one of the plastic/gel tubes in the palm of one of the gloves came out on it's own. Four days later, the same gel tube came out of the other gloves. I believe they were to keep the shape/form of the glove. Today, I noticed that one of the velcro straps is only 20% attached, hanging on by a thread, literally. I guess for $18, I got hand covers. I'll be going with a $40 pair soon.

I cycle for about 1-2 hours a day. After about 20-30 minutes when using these gloves I feel some numbness in both hands. At this point I begin wishing I had purchased gloves with more padding. These gloves have minimal padding. I now know that padding makes all the difference.

Good, but some flaws...,

I bought these a couple weeks ago and they arrived at my door hastily! They are great looking gloves and are pretty comfortable!
The flaws that I had with these is that the velcro on the strap will get caught on the material that covers the back of your hand. There is not that much padding over the palm, but it does help a little bit. On the thumb going up to the index finger, they added a towel like material to wipe sweat away from your face, and it really helps A LOT! Overall I would say they are comfortable, affordable, and look great! You should not hesitate to buy them! Its a great deal!

gloves used for wheelchair,

These gloves I use to turn the wheels on my wheelchair. They have been very long lasting, unlike other gloves I have used for this purpose. They are easy to clean, and well made, and I would happily use them for many years.

OK for paved trail/rail-trail riding,

Using these for trail riding is fine. The padding is a bit thin but they are comfortable enough. Wish they did have a bit more padding. They are rather inexpensive so if you don't mind spending a bit more, I would probably go for something a little thicker.
I've used them for mountain biking (it's too hot for full fingered gloves right now) and fell a couple of times pretty good and they held up fine and protected my palms. Can't say the same about my elbow. :) |
