Another great night safety product is the Planet Bike BRT Strap Multi-Use LED Bicycle Safety Light. Nearly the whole strap (7" x 13/16" of it) glows or blinks bright red when it's turned on -- it appears as a yellow reflective surface when it's off. It works great. It's lightweight, easy to use and comfortable, plus fits in my hip-pack nicely. I use it as a leg-light (above my left calf) for night biking or late afternoon inline skating. Having a light move as you pedal, and highlight the left edge of your bike provides a major safety advantage.Read more ›
While this isn't the brightest light out there, the fact that it is self-leveling makes it always in the right position and more visible than any other light. Unless you hard mount a light to your bike and make sure it's level, you're never gonna get the best projection of light. Besides, the higher up the light is, the easier it can be seen. No one who rides at night should be without this thing mounted to their helmet!
Down side - after four years of it bouncing around my helmet, the bracket kinda wore out (I attached it to a curved part, so there was stress on the bracket). Planet Bike sells a replacement kit for $5 - great customer insight on their part.
Press the button to flash (all three LEDs flash at the same time), hold them on, or turn them off. Use the included velcro-based elastic strap to attach to the holes in the back of your helmet.
Everyone should have one of these.
As it's helmet-mounted it's up as high as can be and is about eye-level with the drivers behind you. The gimbaled action of the helmet mount keeps the light visable when ascending or decending hills. Also, the motion of the light created when the cyclist is in motion adds to its attention getting properties.
The light has two light patterns: Steady on or a single flash pattern. I wish it had a chasing option, but it doesn't :-(
Overall I love this light and am planning to buy another for my other helmet.

This came as a freebie with Headlight, which was DOA and I forgot to mention only fits narrow framed handle bars. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Edward Torres
Has a flashing mode and solid mode. The light swivels on two pivots to compensate for the angle of your helmet, so it's always pointing properly at the road behind you. Read morePublished 5 months ago by T. Feledy
Great design. Takes one AAA battery, which helps weight the light so it hangs straight. I had the guy at the bike shop attach it- not sure I could have done it myself. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Diane P
I like the idea of a self leveling mount for a light but the execution in this case is not ideal. I love the manufacturer's Superflash light but the Blinky is nowhere near as... Read morePublished 6 months ago by William Renfroe
This is a great concept, but the light could be brighter. My husband and I ride a tandem so we both have one of these lights. His is high enough that I don't see it.Published 6 months ago by J. J. Clarke
