In one part of the product description it says head only...in another part it says it includes the insulating sleeve.

Truth be told it is the head only.

5 stars for the Inflator. It is small, lightweight, inexpensive, and does the job. The valve gives you pretty good control. I just bought another for my other bike.

1 star for Amazon on this one. Though the title does say "inflator head only," the description clearly states that it comes with CO2 cartridges. It most definitely does not. While it is still a good value without the CO2, the description is very mis-leading.

I do not recommend this product as a small o-ring has a tendency to fall out. Without the o-ring, the seal with the CO2 cartridge leaks. Also, the unit is larger than others and is difficult to operate if space is tight (e.g. on a disc wheel)

All you need, nothing more. Although I haven't had to use it for an actual flat yet, I did screw in a cartridge to try it out. The valve gives good control over the airflow. The size is right. It feels sturdy. And for the money, I won't be kicking myself if I lose it somehow. Planet Bike - keep up the good work.

It's hard to review an item like this. It's something you buy and hope to never use.

Overall, the build quality feels pretty good. The red valve feels like the weakest link. I'm not sure if it's variable, or more on/off. But, comparing it to a hundred dollar gas valve really isn't fair at this price point. I have every confidence it will get CO2 into my tire in an emergency, which is really all it's for.

A really nice feature of this design is the ability to thread it onto the valve stem, then screw in a CO2 cartridge, then turn it on. Much less chance to waste gas going where it's not supposed to go.

It's nice and small, this and a couple CO2 cartridges pack up tight in an emergency kit. If I ever have to use it, I'll update the review. Knock wood.

I prefer this type of screw-on inflator head for presta valve tires. No frills, but very functional.

This inflator is very simple, lightweight, which I wanted, so it is perfect for me. I carry it along with 3 CO2 cartridges for any mishap on the highway

UPDATE:The third time I used this inflator the device blew apart. The red valve handle flew from my hand and landed across the street, the inside metal parts disappeared somewhere. I am lucky my face was not in the line of flight. In my annoyance at being forced to walk, I threw the inflator shell away. I probably should have returned it to the manufacturer for failure analysis. (yeah, right!) This inflator has been replaced by a portland design works 'pdw Magic Flute."
