5.0 out of 5 stars Planet Cat out of this planet!
We see hundreds of books come across our desks every week. It's our job to review them on-air and online. Once in a blue moon we see one great piece of literature that we want to keep for our own personal library. Planet Cat is definitely a must have for anyone that considers themselves a cat aficionado. Planet Cat is tidbits of great, and sometimes trivial, but always...

2.0 out of 5 stars Takes some doing separating the wheat from the chaff
Planet Cat is obviously patterned after Cat Catalog
and shares the previous work's strengths and weaknesses.
Both throw a lot against the proverbial wall in a somewhat
haphazard fashion. Some of the information is whimsical
and some is useful.

The difference is that Planet Cat contains a lot of
MISinformation. In its pages the...

We see hundreds of books come across our desks every week. It's our job to review them on-air and online. Once in a blue moon we see one great piece of literature that we want to keep for our own personal library. Planet Cat is definitely a must have for anyone that considers themselves a cat aficionado. Planet Cat is tidbits of great, and sometimes trivial, but always fun facts...perfect for bathroom reading! I learned that cats have 24 whiskers - which may not pay my bills, but something I will tuck away in my gray matter until I need it. Thick, awesome book! Well worth the price...and it makes a great gift. My feline guardians will all get a copy for Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arden Moore has done it again, December 10, 2007
This review is from: Planet Cat: A CAT-alog (Paperback)
I didn't think Arden could write a book that was as much fun to read as her previous book, The Cat Behavior Answer Book, but it looks like she's done just that. Planet Cat is a blast! It is as entertaining as it is educational, filled with neat little tidbits about all things feline. I found myself depressed when I got to the last page; I wanted the book to go on forever. A must-have for cat lovers.

This review is from: Planet Cat: A CAT-alog (Paperback)
Being a lifelong dog-devoted person, it came as a great surprise to love Planet Cat. It is informative and fun and I would give it five mice, I mean five stars. I think these writers must be part critters. A definite yes from me. Donna Brooks, MD

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book, November 4, 2007
This review is from: Planet Cat: A CAT-alog (Paperback)
I always thought cats were from another planet, one I did not want to visit. Then Henry the cat dropped into my life. These writers make everything such fun and so easy to understand. Add this to your list of favorite books! Five stars from me! Cathy Conheim, cat scribe of What's the Matter with Henry? (www.henrysworld.org)

4.0 out of 5 stars Best present for the holydays, December 7, 2007
This review is from: Planet Cat: A CAT-alog (Paperback)
This book is a real hoot...or maybe I should say the cat's pajamas. I am a dog and a cat lover and got "Planet Dog" last year for a present. I enjoyed it so much that I bought "Planet Cat" as soon as it came out. Both are really fun and have lots of information that even I didn't know. This is going to be my favorite present to give this year. I may even give it to a few cats.

5.0 out of 5 stars Planet Cat- a cat-alog, March 31, 2008
This review is from: Planet Cat: A CAT-alog (Paperback)

Planet Cat is not the type of book that you want to bomb through in one sitting. Instead, Planet Cat should be savored slowly like a fine wine as you marvel at the amount of time and research that has gone into this collaborative effort.

Authored by Sandra Choron, Harry Choron and Arden Moore, Planet Cat offers the reader a distinctive look into all things C-A-T. From early history to contempurrary culture, learn about famous cats, famous people who share their lives with cats, Presidential kitties, care and training, cat behavior even popular and obscure cat myths debunked. You name it; you will find it within Planet Cat.

Such extensive content requires a six page Table of Contents as the three authors behind this book contact authors and experts gathering up content in an easy-to-use guide. Learn about what gifts will satisfy the cat who has everything. How to photograph your cat, travel tips, which websites are the most popular for cat lovers on the Net, how to secure insurance policies for your cat- they litter-ally cover every cat-topic on the planet.

Put this book on your bookshelf for it is an educational find, fun to read, highly informative, and a must-have for any cat lover. Sits proudly in my bathroom next to my copy of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Cat Lover's Companion.

Bravo to the authors for providing such a wonderful find!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finding the right book to get someone passionate about reading.., February 5, 2008
This review is from: Planet Cat: A CAT-alog (Paperback)
I bought this book for my daughter. She didn't inherit the "passionate reader's gene" from me. So to encourage her I am always seaching for books that have a subject she is interested in. This book fit the bill. She loves this book. She is also pretty reserved and not very outgoing in family gatherings, but this book gave her something interesting to talk about and feel included and confident.
