2.0 out of 5 stars Not So Hot Knockoff June 25, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
Though both products are marketed by the same company, this version is a cheap knockoff of the classy "DCI I Am Not a Paper Cup". Though it initially appears similar, there are easily visible differences. The lid does not have the indentation that makes it more comfortable for your upper lip. On both the Eco Coffee Cups that I received, there are visible defects in the surface. More importantly, this double-walled cup does not have a safety pressure outlet on the bottom, as does "I Am Not a Paper Cup". This would theoretically increase the risk of cracking if you micro-waved contents to a high temperature, as the heated air has no place to expand into. Lid fit is looser than Not a Paper Cup, though I haven't experienced actual leaking. Finally, using a measuring cup, my two cups hold 11 oz., not the advertised 12 oz.

Bottom line: The original item, I Am Not a Paper Cup, is a classy and durable item. It costs a few bucks more. The difference between Eco Cup and the original is clearly an example of "you get what you pay for".

5.0 out of 5 stars this cup is great! May 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
Strengths:
-it looks just like a disposable cup from far away.
-it does not leak
-the sleeve keeps the outside of the cup cool
-everything is dishwasher safe.

Weakness:
-it is pretty heavy
-it holds about 8oz of coffee, but from the outside it looks like it could hold more

Overall I really like the cup because it is so easy. I don't mind the weight and it holds enough coffee for me. Definetly worth the money.

This cup looks like a disposable cup with a lid and sleeve. The sleeve is not like in the picture but is just brown with large bumps. It is ok at keeping coffee warm. Not like a nice vacuum stainless steel cup, but ok. It holds just barely 12 oz. My keurig on the 12 oz. setting fills it to the brim with no room left for cream. I like that it is dishwasher safe. My other travel mugs get full of water in between the layers. I only wish it were spill proof.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very insulated
While it is a nice looking cup and drinks nice, the insulation does not work nearly as well as stated. I felt the heat from my coffee almost immediately after pouring. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars The lid is useless!
The silicone lid is nearly impossible to attach, 5 min. of fussing and maybe you'll get it closed. Noway I would trust this with hot coffee in it.

The *box* this cup came in matches the cute little "saving the world one cup at a time" logo, so I know this wasn't simply a pick/pack mix up, but the actual cup I received looks... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad Lid
Bought the eco coffee cup today. Really like the 16oz porcelain cup itself as it felt good in my hand, but the lid was very hard to get on. It ripped on my first try. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars DCI cup is so much better than this
I have this cup, and I also have the 10-oz DCI "Not a Paper Cup" cup. I bought this because it was a tiny bit larger, but the DCI cup is vastly superior. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Almost great
These cups are very cool. We'd use them more, but if you wash them, especially in a dishwasher. They inhale water into a tiny hole in the bottom of the cup, and when you put warm... Read more
