Product Description

Planet Eclipse has long been known as a market leader in high-end paintball markers and accessories. Our aim has always been set high; to produce the very best paintball equipment possible. Unashamedly, our products to date have always been aimed at the higher-end of the paintball market. They are feature- laden, finished to the very highest standard and immaculately prepared and presented. Entry Level they are not. We understand that not every player has the budget for markers at that level. New or recreational players within the sport may not see the benefit in such fully featured products, but why should those players be precluded from receiving exceptional value and quality? We believe that they shouldn't be. That was our philosophy when we set out to design our latest paintball marker. One that retains the core elements of all Planet Eclipse markers but comes wrapped in a more affordable package, allowing more players to enjoy the Eclipse Ownership Experience The challenge was on and we are proud to share with you... No matter at what price-point you purchase your paintball marker we believe that there are some fundamental features that every customer should demand. Quality. Reliability. Service. At Eclipse we have endeavoured to build these features into every marker we have ever produced. Even though the Etha sits at a less expensive price point not previously occupied by an Eclipse marker, the all-new Etha is no exception.

I've had mine for about a year now. Never had a problem with it, except until recently when the poppet spring failed. Fortunately there's a spare included in the kit. Even better, Planet Eclipse is sending out to every registered owner a redesigned springless poppet, even without waiting for people to complain!

Great marker, Great Service!

I also have the Etha EMC body kit, to add rails and a stock for woodsball. Makes it so the Etha is at home on both the speedball and woodsball fields!

There's nothing else like it out right now!

This is a amazing gun. I got one for christmas and I went out to play with it and it shoots great. And the reg is perfect. Out of the box it the first three shots where 261 260 and 262. The only things needed to be done to this gun are get a better feed neak and if you want upgrade the board.

This was a great looking market and I loved it initially but it kept chopping 5 Star GI sports paintballs in moderate weather. Even after I installed the spring less poppet, there was no change. I live in Alaska and only play during the Summer, it didn't even last a few weekends before it started chopping paint like crazy. I paired this with a Halo Too and just couldn't figure out what the issue was.

Aside from chopping paint for the games I got to use it effectively with it shot ropes up to 75ft with on the money precision I never upgraded the barrel I used the stock barrel and shroud.

The case and kit it came in was great, it came with tons of Hex keys, lube, a huge informational booklet and of course Planet Eclipses 5 Star Customer support. I could take the thing apart in under 3 minutes and have it lubed up and ready to go in under ten.

I contacted Planet Eclipse they suggested I turn in the gun for another one or send it in so they could look in to the issues to see if it was a noid problem but in the end I returned it and went with a Lux, which has given me zero problems even those they are maintenance queens and love to be babied.

At the moment I write this, I have used it in action twice, and have it set up with an Empire Scion loader, and an Empire 48/3000 air tank. I read the manual, and followed all of the instructions for set up and for cleaning. Before I had the Etha, I had a Spyder MR100. That is my Background for reviewing this item.

This marker is much better than my MR100. I have put about a case and a half of paint through it, and have not broken a single ball (Compared to my MR100, which probably broke 1 out of every 50-100 rounds I put through it). The BBSS works great, and I was able to use this marker with a gravity hopper on semi, and would get about 4 or 5 bps. With the Scion, I am able to get 10 or 11 bps on semi. It has 4 shooting modes: Uncapped Semi, Capped Semi, PSP 2011 Ramping, and Millennium 2010 Ramping. I have only used the first mode, and I will explain why later.

This gun has improved my game significantly. I am now able to keep up with the pros that go to my airball field, and stay alive for a decent amount of time. When you are using the BBSS, there is an LED on the back that gives you instant feedback. It is yellow until a round is in the chamber, which is when it turns blue. If you see more yellow than blue, then you know your loader is slowing you down. You will probably need an electric loader for this gun. I was using a Proto Primo gravity hopper. I had to shake it constantly, and I was seeing more yellow than blue.

Out of the case (Did I mention it comes with a hard sided case?), the Etha is tournament grade. It includes a tournament lock button, which you will need if you ever go to a tournament. It includes a 2 piece shaft 4 barrel, which has been more accurate than the 16 inch rifled trinity barrel I had on my MR100.

so I bought this marker off of eBay and I am the second owner, I must say I saved a lot more money than the original price but either way paying the full price would have been completely worth it. This marker preforms great on the field and I couldn't be happier with the amount of well performance considering the amount I paid for this marker, I recommend the planet eclipse etha to anybody whether you are new to the sport or intermediately playing paintball. Great investment

Planet eclipse is the only paintball marker that my team and myself use. I bought this marker just to save some money and it performs as well if not better than the etek or ego. Planet eclipse knows what they're doing and they show it with this marker. I LOVE the etha and would recomend to anyone no matter your skill level.

I decided to completely delete and redo my initial review after actually taking the Planet Eclipse Etha out to the field to run a couple thousand rounds through it. My original opinions may have been a little too influenced by the excitement of receiving a new toy, but after having spent several hours actually using this marker I feel like my insights may be a bit more helpful.

For those who haven't seen or held an Etha in person, this is a small marker. The body is made up of a single chamber design which makes its overall profile shorter than some of the other markers within the same price bracket. This actually makes the picture of the marker somewhat misleading because the aluminum housing is relatively short from the bottom of the ASA to the top of the receiver, and those who compare the height of the receiver and bolt with the grip may be confused by the proportions of the marker once they actually hold one. The SL3 regulator is also shorter than some of those found on competing markers which may make the Etha somewhat difficult to hold for those with larger hands. My hands are relatively average sized, and I have long fingers, so it feels fine to me. I'm used to using Tippmans and Spyders, so it actually feels much better than what I'm accustomed to.

Other reviewers have commented that the marker fires loudly, or that there is an audible "ping" during rapid fire which I did not personally experience. The stock ported barrell sounded pretty much on par with what I experienced from other players' markers on the field during matches, and I didn't seem to have a louder noise profile than anyone else. The ping may have also been eliminated once PE switched to a springless poppit a few years back, so maybe other users had older models/versions of the Etha.
