Biography

I know it’s electronic music,” Brian Lindgren says, “but sometimes I feel like an old-timey traveling musician with an M-Audio Trigger Finger instead of a guitar.” As Mux Mool, Lindgren has been criss-crossing the country by himself for years, collecting records, loops, and samples, and rocking parties in towns both large and boondock-small. Lindgren is a self-confessed ... Read more in Amazon's Mux Mool Store

Editorial Reviews

Vinyl LP pressing. For Mux Mool (AKA Brian Lindgren), all his music connects to a certain outlook on life - that the pre-established trajectory for adult life is being completely re-imagined. So, how does this economic ambivalence translate to an album of what is best (if not entirely) described as fluid, subsuming instrumental Hip Hop? It's funkier, more confident, and more comfortable. It sounds less like someone trying to prove a point by arguing and more like someone trying to prove a point by just being who they are. It's leading by example, sonically speaking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tastes Great! July 24, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
Honestly, I am kinda pissed at myself for not even knowing about this album earlier. I have been listening to Mux Mool for a while now, and I have to admit that, while his last album was a bit of a conglomerate of all of his previous work, it still set a high water mark for the electronic/techno/trip-hop/chill/whatever-the-hell-genera-it-is.

"Planet High School" is a wholly different animal. While the genre bending music sounds similar to his last album. This time around it is definitely more focused, refined and mature. Possibly a little bit more cerebral. No two songs are the same, but they flow together nicely, ensuring that boredom is kept at bay and auditory pleasure is guaranteed. All of the old glitch-tastic Mool that we know and love is still there, but something has been added to the mix.

I could just be talking out of my ass, but I feel like Mool poured just a little but more of his heart and soul into this album than some of his previous work. I realize that could sound offensive, and if it is, he's free to write and tell me to STFU. But if he did, all I have to say is that it shows and, keep up the good work, I can't wait for the next album!

This is terrific music for when you have to write a paper, have to design something or are in need of some inspiration for making something in Photoshop. The music doesn't overpower and is great for listening to passively in the background, it's also great to just listen to by itself.

This is the first Mux Mool album I've listened to and I'm hooked. Favorite track by far is "The Butterfly Technique" give it a listen. I highly recommend Planet Highschool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection June 6, 2013

I've been groovin' to Mux Mool for a long time and felt I would be remiss for not writing a review. I love many of Brian Lindgren's albums and songs and this one, like most of his others, rocks. It is a soundtrack for life and underwrites many of my thoughts, feelings and moods. I love the diversity of his music. His songs go from hard as nails to soft as fur....all of it making me purrrr.
Highly recommended for electronic music aficionados.
